(Inspired by another recent thread about DLP's Mystic Manor).
Tokyo DisneySea's Journey To The Center Of The Earth has been deemed by many as the greatest Disney attraction ever created. Though it once was rumored to be cloned at DAK, things now appear as if it may be the greatest Disney attraction we never get to see at WDW.
Yes, that is a sad thought.
This brilliantly-themed ride into the pages of Jules Verne uses pretty much the same ride concept as Epcot's Test Track, and DCA's Radiator Springs Racers. If RSR finds it's way onto DHS grounds some year soon, that may very well be the final nail in the coffin for us ever getting to see JCE make it's way to WDW (I highly doubt WDW would have 3 of the same major ride concepts at multiple parks...though omnimovers and spinners may disagree with that statement).
But could there still be a glimmer of hope? Even a tiny speck of a chance? Surely some upper-up's ears have heard the cries & pleas from fans to bring this stellar ride to American soil. Reading trip reports & reviews from those lucky enough to have visited Tokyo DisneySea, that is always the first thing commented on: "Why can't WDW or DLR get a version of Journey??" So surely upper mgmt. knows the demand. There was even an hour-long Travel Channel special on WDW which showed a brief glimpse of the monster from JCE during the segment on future plans. Why tease us like this, Disney, if you're not going to follow through??
So what chance, if any, does WDW still have of receiving it's own version of the one attraction which could very easily put all other dark rides to shame? Will JCE forever remain a staple attraction for Tokyo DisneySea alone, and only a small percentage of us getting the chance to experience it's splendor first-hand? Or will Disney listen to the demands of the people and bring this adventure to Orlando or Anaheim?
