I've encountered a family my second year of teaching that hated Disney for something that was their own fault. Apparently their daughter, my student, was rough housing and fell and hit her head and they wanted compensation from Disney and Disney wouldn't budge. So, the family hated Disney. I just kept my mouth shut and nodded them to death because their daughter was quite rambunctious and shouldn't have been doing what she was doing.

I had another student that same year whose parents hated Disney because they had gay weekends. SO NOT COOL!! They told me that straight to my face and told me to never read a Disney story or allow their son to watch a Disney movie. Of course I didn't listen and did it anyway but sent their son to the library if the two ever occurred. Then at the end of the year I saw the mother at an event and told her that we'd be watching a Disney film with other classes and she said she had a change of heart and he was allowed to watch now. W E I R D!!

And so it went. It's too depressing to even think about. They didn't even get ice cream (too expensive) and only took about a dozen photos.
WHY don't WE have daughters, and now granddaughters. We'd Princess them until their little eyes spun like pinwheels.

Icecream is the best deal on mainstreet. Cheaper there than near home :)

I don't know that I would force feed princesses on any girl. If they are girlie girls yes. My daughter is not. We bought tons of barbies and bratz she never played with. But put a ball in her hand now thats another story.

Ya know, between the gays and fer-ners WDW just ain't real 'Merican anymore. They even have fer-ners working in WS. Ain't got no WalMart at DTD either, where the real 'Mericans supposed to buy stuff? Shootin' range don't even have no real guns.

One of our vendors went with his daughter and her high school band (about 300 kids) to Disney, Universal and Sea World. He hated Disney saying he will never go back and wondered why anyone would spend time there when they could go to Universal. This guy is a bit odd. After his thirty minute rant my boss finally said to him, "Obviously, you don't know how to Disney!" We don't talk Disney when he stops by:)

Until Disney started the dinning plans we NEVER made ADR's We would make them the day of or just walkin. We never had issues. With the DDP in place I don't dare let the 180 window pass with out ADR's DDP has effected the resturants and menus in a very negative way.
This is true. I was there over Thanksgiving 2012 and I started making reservations ASAP. Hubs thought I was nuts, but I told him seriously it was necessary over Thanksgiving. I was waiting for my reservation time at Mama Melrose the day bf Thanksgiving and this guy was asking me what the wait was. The look on his face when I told him I had made the reservation back in August was priceless. He was like ?!?!?!?! If you could imagine that as a look.... Haha I did feel bad for him though... But I do remember the days of just showing up at the park and having a great time w little or no previous planning. I try to tell my friends that have never been. My one friend went over Christmas-New Years and was off site. Eek. When she got back she said they did enjoy it but next time she is going to ask me to help her plan the trip bc she was just too overwhelmed. Another friend has never been and said she wants me to help her when the time comes. She has a special needs son so this is necessary. Disney IS missing the mark here. Just trying to pack in the parks w people and raising prices which ends up pricing out some people who really would love to go... Kind of sad... We save for 2 yrs just to go for a week. I'm not surprised when I hear newbies say they don't like it. But I am disappointed...

I have a friend that's so anti-Disney that he wouldn't set foot on WDW if you sawed it off and sent it FedEx. I feel sorry for his new son.

Me too. My son has a friend who wants to go SO bad and e dad won't hear of it. He plays epic Mickey and all and would LOvE to go. The dad is such a great fun loving guy- I wish I knew why his panties were in a bunch about Disney. He's never been either. Hmmmm... I don't get people...

I actually do not know anyone who hated WDW. I know some people who didn't like a certain aspect of it, but everyone I know generally does like it.

I don't know a lot of people though, so that doesn't say much.

I guess Disney just isn't for everyone... I don't know how, but I guess beach-people, city-people, ect. would say the same about me. I wouldn't mind if I knew someone who didn't like Disney. It's kind of sad to hear about people who have bad experiences due to lack of planning.

We need time for things to happen.

Probably has nothing to do with his panties and everything to do with his wallet.

Heading for the great escape.
Many people for many reasons. Too busy, too kiddy, to expensive, too hot, too American, too few rides, too much walking. Some people just like to plank their on a beach for two weeks the concept of which is hell to me, so Im not surprised some wont like the things I do.

My parents and younger sister (21 at the time) They had won a trip for a stay in AK. 4 days. My dad actually complained that he could hear some of the animals at the resort! (What I would give to be able to stay at AK) They complained about all of the above comments heat, walking, long lines etc.
My mom complained "it is just a place for kids"!
Younger sister complained "it was ok, just hot and too many people"
I have asked my whole family if they would like to come with us on our upcoming trip. Maybe see the world through my children's eyes. They think its boring and not at all interesting! I do not get it!
I have an older sister that lives in Fl and always says "your going to Disney again"
(I am seriously wondering if I was switched at birth!)
As for my parents and younger sister, their trip was FREE! Who could complain!! It is Disney the most magical, amazing place I have ever been in my life!
I have now nicknamed parents "gloom and doom" for never having a positive on anything!

Yep, Our neighbors took their 6 yo son down and came back and said they had a terrible time. So I asked them if they did this or that(I spent a couple of hours talking them thru everything to maximize their time) and the answer was "No". They didn't do anything that we said and even sold a day that was left on their passes to some time share deal for $20 for the 3 passes with a day left on them. Even though we told them there would be a lot of walking and the parks were huge so expect it, they complained about the walking.

At one point, the mom told the dad and son to go get in "that line" not having a clue what that line was even for. That's how clueless they were.
Some people are just very, very dense.

I can't think of anyone I know. However, on a recent trip to Maine, my older sister was griping about everything. My Mom and I were irritated by it since my sister got a free vacation. My sister's always been a complainer, though. I always have positive thoughts about Disney and can't stop thinking about going next May.

I have to disagree with that people shouldn't have to plan so much to enjoy themselves. If you are spending the serious money that a disney vacation costs why would you not know exactly what you are buying. You don't go to Europe without planning ahead, why would you go to Disney and expect it to be different. Maybe it's just the diehard planner in me, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I agree. You should plan when you go someplace. I have traveled to several cities and even other countries. There is no way I would just get on a plane and show up. I always look ahead of time where I will be going and if I am driving, print up maps so I know where I am going ahead of time. I am not saying plan to the nanosecond but you should be familiar with what there is to do and where you are going.

Most people I know aren't as Disney obsessed as me but have still enjoyed their trips. They mostly complained about heat. I actually had one friend who didn't absolutely hate Disney but thought it was silly then we went to Epcot together and she enjoyed it so much she just took her little boy and husband to the Magic Kingdom. She isn't totally converted but she admits it is a fun place!
