An article I read on The Drudge Report said that 16% of Americans have a tattoo. Do you? And no, that is not me in the picture!

No...All I think about is an 80 y/o lady I once took care of...got her tatoo in the '20's. Lets just say it was no longer in the same spot it started out in.

When I first started college, I thought a tattoo would be a stellar idea. I never could decide what I would want on my body forever. And now I'm over it, so I'm glad I never got one. I watche a friend get one once. OW. :hurl:

I don´t have one and will never get one, for many reasons, and probably the main one would be the quoted above!

Not to thread jump, but Maria, you always have the nicest pictures for your avatars. I'd look like a big goob if I put a pic of me over there.

Aawwee thanks! I don´t know what a 'goob' is, but I am sure that if you posted a pic of yourself, you will make it to the Hall of Fame here! Try it! :animwink:

[/end of thread drift] ;)

I have a tattoo, and of course, it's of Mickey. It's just the black Mickey head logo. I just recently got it, and I love it. I always said I would never get one, but I did. And it's way fun. And it's on my lower back off to the right side. So it's somewhere that is hidden unless I want people to see it. It's my personal hidden Mickey!

I don't like the way tattoos look when they get old, so I never got one.

I have designed a few for people though.

Back in college when I was working as an airbrush artist I toyed with the idea of doing tattoos, but then I thought to myself:
"Seriously, would anyone trust a tattoo artist that didn't have any tattoos?" so I decided against pursuing that line.

I love to draw on myself, but I like to be able to wash it off and change it later. I like variety--I wouldn't want to look at the same piece of art in the same place forever. If they ever come out with draw-it-yourself temporary tattoos that last more than a week without peeling or fading, I'm *so* there!

I don't have one, nor will I ever have one. Heck, I didn't even get my ears pierced until I was over 30! (And only because I wanted to wear expensive earrings without worrying about them falling off! My daughter had/has many pretty pendants because of that. )

I taught once with a girl who was engaged to a tattoo artist. She got one tattoo after another, including her fiance's name emblazoned on a very public spot. Well, you know where THIS is going...

...they broke up, and she was left with a body full of permanent reminders. Having them removed is, I guess, a lengthy, expensive and painful process.
