Do you get mistaken for a CM when you visit WDW?

This one time, at Disneyland,
So this one time. . . at Disney camp. . . Sorry, not very Disney-like, but I couldn't help myself :)

Anyway, I get mistaken for a CM all the time. In fact, my family no longer wagers on whether someone will approach me with a CM-type question, but how long it will be before somebody will approach me with a CM-type question. The record is 20 minutes (not counting the tram ride in from the parking lot) at MGM this past April.

Like some others who already said this, I do not dress "touristy" for Disney. I wear nice shorts and a collared shirt. I don't usually have a bag and, as you can see from the avatar, I wear a lanyard full of nice pins. My brother-in-law videotapes everything and he always tries to get video of me giving directions or helping somebody with showtimes.

My DH and I are always decked out head to toe in Disney merchandise so we look more like tourists than CMs. Still, we've been mistaken a few times. I think it's the lanyard with ID holder. Many people have even asked me if it gives me special backstage priveleges. I am approached with questions from people on a daily basis and am always happy and able to help. I love that I know more about WDW than many actual CM's.
