Do they track/rank your PRIORITY Seatings?

Disney does keep records on all guests. I was talking to a CM at CRO and she told me that in her computer she saw ever time we stayed at WDW, where we stayed, and a few other things. I asked this after she said, "Well we are glad you are joining us again this aug." (we have gone about the same week every year for the past 3 years). I am sure they track everything.

Oh and after reading a book on Disneyland. i found out they have files on guests who have had any complaints about them or anything that involved park security (IE-harassing CM's, beating up Capt. Hook, etc...).

Wow, this all sounds so futuristic & surveilence-ish! They must have some file on me. I'm a member of the Disney Dining Experience, so they even know where, what & when I eat! Oh my heavens, I forgot about my Disney Visa! Now they even track me at home! HELLLPPPPP, MICKEY IS EVERYWHERE!

Is PAL Mickey part of this plan? I could see them having you scan your park ticket which has all your info attached to it when you buy a PAL Mickey to keep track of where you go according to your age and how many trips you've taken.

Just a strange thought.

I would imagine pal Mickey is most definitely a part of this plan. We already know that Mickey is a two way device and is being used to track movement through the park. Although, I would guess that tying him to an actual person's name and file might not produce as much value. In reality, a majority of the people are not going to cart pal mickey around all week while on vacation as he will jsut become cumbersome and one more thing to keep track of.

I would imagine, however, he is a test device of something much smaller and less obtrusive. Say maybe a Radio Frequency ID (RFID) chip embedded into a room card. Then as you go through the parks the chips are read and data recorded.

For example, you have ridden Space Mountain 49 times. On the 50th time, the cast member stops you and presents you with a Magical Moment certificate commemorating your 50th ride.

Or

You have reservations for dinner at Cinderella's table on your birthday/wedding anniversary/ whatever. At the time you arrive and the chip is scanned, the entire staff is alerted to the fact that this is your anniversary. How did they know? You told them when you made the PS for the same occasion 10 years before at a different venue.

I can see where they can use all of the information as to age and how many times you ride something or bypass something and use it to their advantage on future rides or closing of rides or updating.

Something I found interesting....

When we got home, in the mailbox was a Disney Adventures magazine for the boys. We never ordered it. I called and it was complimentary. They could have only gotten this information from our reservations where they asked their names.

In that case, can't the powers that be notice that I always showed up and was never a pain in the a$$ (except for the time DH had a bug in his hot chocolate, but I think I deserved that one :animwink: )?

I sure would love one of those "special discount" postcards! :D

I said, they keep track and collect the data, didn't say anything about them using it. (against anyone)

Actually, I wish that they would institute a $10 charge if you don't cancel your priority seating in advance. I know they do that when it's really busy, but it would open up seating for other folks earlier.

My $0.02 .

Eventually they'll do that... (I guess) Never thought about that one, the only thing I know is, that they keep track...
I never use priority seating...:D

Kev. like FL better? were considering!! [/B][/QUOTE]

It's different. Tough being away from family, nice to have good weather and a multitude of things to do ALL the time. Jobs are toughter to find (good ones at least), so we are still in the adapting process :)

It seems logical to me that they would track reservation information (last trip, names and ages, address, phone number, etc...), but I am surprised to hear that they track whether or not you show up on time for PS. I would think that restaurant hosts/hostesses would be too busy to keep track of it anyway.

If they are tracking your PS's that closely, why to they allow people to make multiple PS at different locations for the same time?

When you get to the resturant they Do fill out a Priority Seating card with your Name, Number of Guests, PS time, Actual time you arrived etc..

And before people start going nuts, notice that I said "many." I did not say "all," nor even "most." (Though I won't rule out the latter....)

I WILL say that right now they have access to more data than they can reasonably process. What they'll do with it in the future is anybody's guess.... :animwink:

You all realize, don't you, that it isn't just Disney that has access to this type of information?

Your bank, credit card companies, and anyone with whom you have electronic relationships have the potential to get this type of data.

Everytime you use your "super discount grocery shopper" card, you local grocer knows what you buy.

Anything with a magnetic strip is a treasure trove of information about you.

And no, I am not totally paranoid, and I don't have 5 years' worth of dried beans and ammunition in my basement......

Glad they haven't used this against me. I have four kids but only tell them about 3 because of the room size. By the way one is in a crib but child number three is only 4 so she still sleeps with us and the other two kids have one bed. Wonder why they havent said anything?:veryconfu

Family wouldn't be a problem there all down there already! It must be like HOT NY down there! Everyone I know has moved there and/or is moving there! My husband is just concerned about work. Big responsibilty being in charge of feeding six people! Who knows maybe someday we'll just pick up and go!:animwink:

This is true... but when I applied for my "Jewel Preferred Card" (local store here) a loooong time ago, I opted out on my application... (checked no... you cannot use my information and track/save what I buy) so they whould not have a "history" on me... and how many oreos and how much diet pepsi I buy in a year

Ya have to be careful what you sign.. and read the fine print :)

My family has been to WDW for 19 years now (the past 3 years have been 3 trips a year) and i'm not sure if they say anything kool like what you guys have said. I'll ask my parents bout it, and when we book our next trip, I'll let ya know! haha, it would be kind of neat to see what all they have in their computers about you!:p

Wow, this could be embarrassing if you are with husband/wife # 2,3 or 4! Anniversary? WHAT anniversary!?

Keeping track of your involvement is pretty standard for most companies. Disney just has a very elaborate database to keep track of this information.

I used to work in a museum in Washington, DC and we would log all the complaints and compliment from visitors. You would be surprised what this type of information is used for.
