DL's obvious speaker playing laughter at the exit of The Haunted Mansion or The Magic Kingdom

The oldest battle in the book. Disneyland's The Haunted Mansion vs. The Magic Kingdom's The Haunted Mansion. I would argue that the obvious speaker playing a ghost laugh track as you exit the DL HM is more charming than the entirety of The Magic Kingdom. This feature was nixed from the Florida version for unknown reasons but they make sure to keep it playing over and over again for the enjoyment of DL guests.

You know me... I do love my Florida mansion. I don't love the queue additions, but I still think the overall FL mansion is a slightly better experience than DL's, but just by a hair. Also... NO NIGHTMARE in FL.

Also, speaking of Nightmare, the story is that we have the overlay to thank for that little exit speaker out here. It wasn't until the overlay that they discovered that speaker had long been disconnected from its audio source. They reconnected it and voila, a long lost laugh had suddenly returned! It had apparently been MIA for a very long time, though I'm not sure how long.

I love HM Holiday and no one is going to convince me otherwise.

I agree it runs too long though.

Yeah HMH isn't a bad overlay at all. It runs too long, but I don't mind it. Personally though, if I had my way, I would have done the original plan to have a separate Nightmare before Christmas ride.

Got a source for this story? I'd be interested in learning more. Is there a Long Forgotten blog post on it?

Seems strange that they'd not notice that a speaker is disconnected. Do we know when the ride audio switched from analog to digital?

My answer to the thread title's question-

Disneyland 120% all the way.
Why?
Because it's a fun surprise when you exit the Mansion and it catches you off guard.
'Always leave em' laughing' is a old show biz expression for good reason.

Everything at Disneyland is better, and I say that as a former long term WDW ex-Guest.

I just wish DL had the endless stair room.

Where would that go? In the loading area? I don't think it would logically fit there. Your in the hallway where pictures change and then your in a endless staircase room. It's too much of a weird jump. I would rather see the grand staircase from Phantom Manor or at least the Haunted Mansion movie version. Anything is better than an cheap black box we have now. We even lost our spider.
