You guys know I love odd old Disneyland photos. Check out this pic of what appears to be an employee entrance outside the berm behind the Skyway.

Got stuck under there for about ten minutes on my last trip. The first 3 rows of the boat (where I was located) was actually past the skull at the start of the drop. When the ride was ready to go, the CM made sure to mention that the voyage would begin "immediately." I guess so we could brace ourselves for the imminent drop. I wondered if that warning was for our specific boat or for everyone on the attraction? I'm guessing they have the ability to select which speakers they want to speak out of? Anyway, during our ten idle minutes, I had a chance to flash my phone flashlight down the dark drop and it was a lot shorter than I imagined.

Definitely one of the more memorable places I have ever been stuck on a Disneyland attraction.
