We had a huge room. It had 2 bedrooms, a huge kitchen and slept 8. We checked in on Saturday night and got a good night sleep. Kids slept on the (not adult friendly) pull out couch. It was creaky and seemed uncomfortable but they didn’t mind it at all. We had a HUGE screened in porch that we sat at whenever we could and it looked out onto the water park. It was a nice location in this otherwise huge resort.

Hubby picked up our Walmart pickup order and we got settled in.

Up next, we met up with my sister and her family. They stayed at the Dolphin and we met up with them at the pool there at the Swan and Dolphin and went swimming with them. It was my niece’s 13th birthday. We love the S&D and have stayed there about 10 or so times over the last 13 years.

This was our first time not staying on Disney property and I didn’t know if I’d like it or not. It didn’t matter bc we got an amazing deal on this room at Westgate that I couldn’t say no. I really did like it and probably would stay offsite again. It was super easy to get to the parks and I really enjoyed ur non park days. It helped make our park days that much more enjoyable… knowing the next day I could sleep in (if the kids let me 😆).

On our way to MK I took this pic. Gorgeous skies that morning…. We had a great weather day!

We parked and we’re super excited to ride the monorail. It had been almost 7 years since I rode it. Cassidy probably doesn’t remember riding it and Chelsea never rode it before… so it was pretty neat.

Here we are! We got on without a hitch and it wasn’t too crowded either. I’d say we got there around 8:30, so that was good timing.

We opted for the stroller again and believe it or not, but it was cheaper than DL to rent one in DW, so that was a plus.

We wore our “2022” shirts again…. That was the plan.… It isn’t every summer you go to both DL & WDW, so we needed proper documentation 😆.

Barnstormer fun! It’s short, but the kids love it.

After Journey Under the Sea, Cassidy, Lacy, Jessie and Tom rode in one teacup and Chelsea and I rode in another. We spun, but not as fast as Tom and the girls. Lots of fun though! Chelsea and I laughed and smile so much. It was absolutely delightful to see her face light up on this ride!

I should mention (if I didn’t before) that we purchased the Genie+ each day of this trip. Yes, it was $60 per day, but it was well worth it. We literally did everything we wanted to do and didn’t wait more than 10 minutes. Totally worth it, if you ask me.

Our MK day was totally one for the books. There were about 3 rides we didn’t do and it was just a lovely day. We didn’t know how the day would progress and how the kids would be if we stayed all day, but they were really good. The afternoon was spent watching shows to kind of relax and chill out. We did Tiki Room, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor and Carousel of Progress one right after the other. We had ice cream for dinner in Tomorrowland and just hung out there doing the Buzz Lightyear Ride, People Mover and Space Mountain. We really did so much throughout the day and it was probably one of the more enjoyable times there in a long time.

I’d like to preface this post with the caption “the pictures make the day look more enjoyable than it really was.” We had a nice drive out to Cocoa Beach and it was really nice there, but my kids were not behaved and were whining a lot and it put it a damper on the day. It was really pretty ther and we went into the Ron Jon shop which I love.

Last stop was at the Pier. This is where the 💩hit the fan. My kids fell apart here and they just wanted to go back to the hotel and chill.

Unfortunately, it took us over an hour longer to get back to the hotel bc there was a huge storm and bad accident right near our hotel and the traffic was horrendous. I almost wish we would’ve just stayed at the hotel that day, but I’m glad we did Cocoa Beach. Also worth noting, it wasn’t really any different from the shores up here in New Jersey. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but there wasn’t anything that stood out to me that was like amazing.
