Disturbing changes to the Flame Tree barbeque

I fail to see how Disney food is comparitively very expensive. At busch gardens, a bacon cheeseburger (no fries, no drink) is 6.50. A drink is 2.79 and Fries are 2.79. That would be just over 12 dollars for a counter service meal. At casey's corner, a bacon cheeseburger AND fries is just over 7 dollars, and a drink just over 2. That's about 9 dollars. 3 dollars less than the area competition.

All theme park food I've ever encountered (WDW, USF, SFoG) is ridiculously overpriced. Disney has plenty of company in that category.

Disney is rediculously overpriced? Have you been to a fudruckers lately? Johny Rockets? Is disney any more than any of those? Nope. Is Disney cheap? By no means is it cheap. But just because something is not cheap does not automatically make it overpriced or expensive. There is a middle area...

I dunno...memory could be failing me here, but it seems like whenever I pay $10 for a burger and fries at a place like you just mentioned, I get half a cow and a huge plate of spuds. Paying the same price at Disney seems to get you a plate of stuff the size of what you could get from the Wendy's dollar menu.

I rarely feel like I've gotten what I've paid for when I order food at Disney. I just kind of grit my teeth and accept it.

I missed a few things. The chicken sandwich is also gone, and you can no longer order a side salad.

IMO, Disney presents a better value as far as food and beverage than other area theme parks. Is it as cheap as McDonalds or Burger King? nope. But I would expect to pay a premium at a theme park.
Yes all theme parks are expensive, I just dont think for the "premium" price that you pay they should be taking away. I do expect to pay more at a theme park but lets face it, over double the price is a lot, at least for me.(using the mcdonalds comparison) for a burger, fries and drink. The food is a small complaint for me, its not like it would stop me from going.

To make counter service prices at WDW look reasonable, all you have to do is go to a MLB, NFL or NBA game. Things could be much, much worse.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It may seem like trivial changes, but for fans of that place, its not good to see it going down hill.

Yes, IMO it is overpriced for very average food, I'd rather drive through McDonald's that is right outside of AK and have a snack wrap, fries and soda which probably will cost all of $5. Fudruckers at least you get to eat indoors with a/c, refillable drinks and a burger that can be cooked any way you want it, like medium rare. Johny Rockets, you sit down and are served in an a/c environment.

Actualy I did and I can say I wont go back, Ive had much better burgers for less money. Disney counter service, for the most part, is no better than your typical fast food chains but over double the price.

:sohappy:

and the Chocolate Cake as well :sohappy: :sohappy:

I'm not 100% on this, but I think the chocolate cake has been affected. It may now be just a cake-type dessert in a small pott, instead of an actual slice of cake in the way it was previously.

I agree with this assessment. The difference being that you generally spend all day at a Disney Park, and just a few hours at a game. But $4 20 oz soft drinks at the Rangers game on Sunday night, made the $6 beer seem worth it.:)
