Hope this gives them cause to do a proper remaster of the original series- one of the best shows in history.

Honestly not sure how I feel about this news but I'd definitely check it out.

What Fox stuff?
All the stuff that originally came from FOX like the Alien, X-files and other shows. Hulu makes a mess out of it. The interface is slow.

Yeah, you can **** right off with this change to your T&C, Bob.

“We are clarifying that, as we continue to increase the breadth and depth of the content we make available to you, circumstances may require that certain titles and types of content include ads, even in our 'no ads' or 'ad free' subscription tiers.”

So ad free subscriptions still get you ads for pot gummies?

Those of us using Hulu+Live have had to deal with this since forever. The non-Disney content licensed on Disney streamers sometimes have a rider that they must show the ads that come with it because those non-Disney content providers have a contract with their advertisers. This is the case even if we have the no-ads tier.

It doesn't happen often. But it happens. And Hulu has always been up front with it when you attempt to buy into their no-ads tier.

Probably also is true with sports programming if that gets added on. Sometimes the rights contract requires that the broadcast carry certain advertisements (e.g. during college sports broadcasts there are required advertisements for the schools and/or conferences that TV carries)

I think it depends on the streaming contracts, because any ad plays require sharing of the revenue from the ad and the source broadcaster might not want to share the revenue. As I've seen some streaming services (such as DirecTV stream) that broadcast live sports show a "Pause for Commercial Break, Will Resume Shortly" or similar message while the ad break is happening.

Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
