IMAX at home just isn't as impressive as in the theaters IMO. I don't expect it to catch on or attract anyone, especially if it results in reports of sickness or eye strain from some viewers.
Its only certified on specific devices (TVs, receivers, projectors, etc). These devices are specifically designed for IMAX ratios to give the same quality as in the theaters. So the sickness or eye strain complaints will be minimal, if using the certified devices.

As with any at-home product there will always be purists that will say its not the same as being in the theater. But doesn't mean the quality is not there. Which is why the transition to streaming is important for all studios, as with even the least expensive systems you can get a comparable watching experience.

Watching anything at home won't be as impressive as in theaters.

The IMAX scenes I've watched at home, i.e. in The Dark Knight, really do look better and I've never had any eye strain. This is not an issue I've even heard of.

I hope they extend this to Star Wars as well. The Falcon flight scene in The Force Awakens looks amazing in IMAX.

Both sound interesting but why not have "The Princess" star someone of color instead of yet another young white girl?
