Critics Consensus

With Halle Bailey making a major splash in the title role, Disney's live-action Little Mermaid ranks among the studio's most enjoyable reimaginings.

So when the audience scores come in for this are we still going to blame review bombing?

Just wondering since the reviewers also say it sucks.

Some reviewers say it sucks. Other reviewers say it is fantastic. Letā€™s not get it twisted.
I wouldnā€™t tell anyone NOT to see this movie. It is all about fan service and if you are a fan who wants this, you should try itā€¦ in a theater. But itā€™s not a good movie.

Still rated it fresh though.

Sounds fresh to me.

How can you declare that it is not a good movie if you have not even seen it???? Iā€™m seeing it Thursday night and if it sucks, I will be the first one on here to declare that it sucks. But you donā€™t know that yet, and neither do I. In the meantime, a lot of the ā€œbadā€ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes (itā€™s still mainly positive) are from extremely questionable sources, like the far right Rupert Murdoch owned New York Post, which hasnā€™t said anything true in years. And this review just came up on my feed. Itā€™s from Variety, which I trust a lot.

Yes NPR the home of the far right.

Must be a conspiracy!
