Found this interesting/slightly depressing section in Al Lutz's new column today:
"Who is also paying attention to Anaheim’s radical attendance shift are the executives in Orlando. Imagineering, buoyed by the huge
success of DCA’s extreme makeover, has put
together a proposal to do the same type of
massive multi-year makeover for the floundering
Disney Hollywood Studios park out in Disney
World. It may not get the nearly 1.5 Billion that
was spent on DCA from 2007 to 2012 (with
Midway Mania, Pixar Play Parade, and World of
Color paid for separately and on top of the 1.2
Billion dedicated to the makeover), but
Imagineering would love to tear in to DHS and
give the muddled theme of that park a fresh start and new look, bolstered with at least one
new mega E Ticket and a smattering of smaller
rides.
"Wish them luck though, as the TDO executives
are already inquiring how the park makeover can
be value engineered, what might be eliminated,
and how it could all be stretched out over more
fiscal years than WDI’s bold 3 year extreme
makeover proposal. Sheesh."

Before getting on the ride, and seeing the vehicles at D23, I asked about the windshields. On the ride I didn't really see them as a problem.Having just been to Carsland, I can say that Radiator Springs Racers is an amazing Eticket that Hollywood Studios should clone(without the vision impairing windshields). However, the rest of Carsland is totally unnecessary. RSR takes you through Radiator Springs on its own, and the other two attractions in Carsland are less than impressive. They should add RSR and retheme the stunt show as part as Pixar Place. I would also like to see them update Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground to A Bug's Life.
I can't really tell what's being done here. It looks like the Backlot Tour will still exist after this, am I reading this right?Looks like The Backlot Tour is getting some reworking http://www..com/2012/07/31/major-ch...ram-tour-at-disney-hollywood-studios-in-2013/

No RSR in Hollywood Studios please. I fell it should stay uniqe to DCA. Hollywood studios deserves something all its own imo.

Lee had confirmed in another thread that it's nothing major. He pretty much said its nothing at all.Do any of our insiders have any info on this? I saw these permits yesterday when I posted them in the Permit thread but didn't see anything that made me think this was anything major. The contractor listed on the permit is not one of contractors that Disney uses for big projects. I did a search on the name, Roger Arnold, and it appears he might even be a Disney employee.
Since everyone seems to be posting what they would want Disney's Hollywood Studios, I'll post mine!
NB.
...
- This is basically "Rollercoaster Tycoon: Disney's Hollywood Studios Edition"
- This list is based on past/present/future attractions - I don't believe I've thought of anything new
- I realise that we wouldn't ever get anything on this list (for example, there's 4 Monsters Inc. attractions on here - that's never going to happen - but maybe we could get a mix of 1 or 2 of them), and some of the attractions may be repeating themselves.
- I have not experienced everything on this list, some of the things on this list may be/have been terrible, in which case, take the basic idea and make it better!
That would get you roughly 48 attractions (depending on what you call actual attractions v theming (eg, ATAS Hall of Fame Plaza), etc.) - more than 2.5x the attractions currently there (19) - and the design process is already done for them!
