Laughable that anybody would start slinging mud at those who want to pay for this.We all have our vices in life and things we spend money on. I dropped $500 on one single round of golf at a pretty famous course on the west coast....complete waste of money to most...but completely unforgettable experience for me. I'm not a fan of Star Wars at all, but I could definitely see the draw/excitement from going to an event like this. You get to watch with like minded individuals, and after watching what will probably be a great movie, they'll all be feeling that high which will spill over to DHS.

I agree with this totally. I would not consider myself a FanBoy, but I am a huge fan of Star Wars and have often thought I would be really ticked off if I died before getting to see the remaining movies. On that note, the movie FanBoys is hilarious and may give some people insite as to how huge the series is to some people.

After reading this whole thread just now, I have to ask, what if the movie turns out to be completely awful? Possible riot at DHS? The hype for this movie is insane, and I think if the movie bombs this hype could turn to hate faster than the Millenium Falcon can jump to lightspeed.

Star Wars fanatics aren't quite the rioting type, more like the angry facebook post type.

Also, if ever there was a time to riot, the release of Eps 1-3 would have been it. I think it's a pretty safe bet these will be better films.

It didn't register with me that's the week we'll be there until last evening. Not only is that the week, but that's the day we have ressies at 7:10 at Sci Fi. Will they empty the park before they let party-goers in, or will they allow them in early as they do for MNSSHP and MVMCP? I could always move our ressies to somewhere else. I would have bought tickets for the event, if I wasn't such a cry baby. If they kill off Luke or Han, as has been speculated, I would be crying so hard the poor people sitting beside me wouldn't be able to hear and I would be too embarrassed to walk out of the theater. Also, my daughter and her boyfriend made a deal that they wouldn't go without the other.
It's not that I'm such a Star Wars nut, it's that I empathize, instead of sympathize. I cried so hard at E.T. that the people behind me were laughing at me. This was when it was first released.

You shouldn't be effected as the event will take place after the movie and the move showings start at 7. With a 2.5 hour movie including previews and travel time to DHS after, you should have plenty of time to enjoy your ressie and the park before they close to regular park guests.

Oh. I thought they were showing the movie in the park. That makes a lot of sense. I didn't see how they would have room in the theater in the park for so many people.

You know, I was very okay with an $100 package when we first found out about it, but now I've got to openly eat some crow...a movie ticket, one ride, a museum and a fireworks show with NO free food is not worth that much money. $60-70? Maybe.

It made me think back to a similar event...the premier of the last Harry Potter movie. Do you guys remember what happened after the midnight showing at Universal? All the guests were escorted over to the recently opened Hogsmeade and had the place to themselves until 5 a.m., free of charge. How great it must have felt to experience that.

Now I know it's a little bit different over at Disney considering AMC isn't walking distance from DHS, but it's not like the midnight premiere people are getting to see Star Wars Land before anyone else. They're just getting to ride Star Tours like they probably do every couple weeks, and a museum that'll probably be open by the time the movie comes out.

I still wonder why they dont use some of the stages at DHS.
Some of them could function as movie theatres.

Well they are using the One Mans Dream cinema to show a trailer and same for the old Sounds Dangerous theatre. But for a full theatrical presentation? I don't know if the sound system etc would be as good as at the AMC.
If you mean the sound stages, they are mainly now full of Toy Story Mania. The only soundstage that doesn't currently have an attraction is the bit that had Narnia / Jack Sparrow and that is getting demolished for Toy Story Land entrance in the new year.

That was kind of my point it's more expensive and less to do than their existing hard tickets

I think it will be a very cool experience to those who get to go to this event. If I lived closer or happened to be visiting at that time, I would definitely consider it. As I'm not, I got tickets to the 10pm showing on the 17th in IMAX 3D... That was the hubby's choice. I'm excited to see it and have already told my boss I might still be wearing my Star Wars t-shirt the next day to work. :)

good excuse to upgrade the cinema with new tech for further "packages" of movies for fans..
