Oh don't be sorry. . . I'm not even someone with authority. I just wanna save this thread from politics so it won't have to be locked. . . although the subject matter of the film doesn't help much!! :D

Okay! I need to make a greenlight one. . . but I don't think this thread needs that one. ;)

Maybe a flashing one. . . or perhaps a left arrow/right arrow (symbolizing political parties, of course). :lookaroun

Thanks for the cake - Jer! This will surely keep my trap shut. :D

I'm more of a moderate. I believe each side has some truth to their arguments but that doesn't mean it's all true. That's why I like to see real hard evidence to support something because both sides will tell you lies.

We're cool. I hope no one is offended by what I've said and if they are then I apologize right now. Like I said it's ok to disagree but we need to stay civil.

 ACE

hehe...I know what you mean...I'm moderate aswell....

And ACE I'll be honest...I haven't seen this movie...and thats why I haven't really commented on the movie itself...just some of the reaction....

No hard feelings...

Trust me, I have *strong* opinions about this film one way or the other, but I just chose to post Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox photos.

Had no idea there were so many "Young Liberals' on this site. Ah well, there is still hope. . . :hammer:

I have not seen the movie. Do not plan on seeing it.

I just think it is odd that, after only 9 months in office prior to 9/11, Bush is put on the ringer for intelligence issues. Wouldn't part if not most of lack of the intelligence competance fall under the 8 years of the previous administration?

Mr. Moore, I salute you with the old 'vertical smile'. You and Rush need to have a nice quiet dinner together.

Oh well, I guess we'll continue politicking until the thread is closed.

Who wants to post the campaign signs?

Ooh, ooh, I will, I will

How do you do the sign thingies?

Around the World in 80 Days and other Disney flops...

This year has been horrible for Disney films, The Alamo, Ladykillers, HOTR, all failed to meet expectations. Then comes along a movie that was sure to be a hit, after Bowling for Columbine became the highest grossing documentary of all time with 21 million total. Now here's Disney watching Fahrenheit become the highest grossing movie and making 21 million in the first weekend alone (that is three times what Around the World made in its opening weekend). Although Disney has an image to preserve, most people dont even realize Miramax is attached to Disney. and btw, i saw the movie on friday and LOVED it! yes, michael moore can say things w/o really saying them, i.e. editing and music; yet, in the end, there are so many portions of the movie that stick w/ you (and none of them involve his two ridiculous shenanigans). that's all i have to say about that :)

AHHHHH!!!!!!

Do we really have to go there, because last time I checked...the attacks and the ineptitude to stop them, occurred in 2001 not 2000...and really are we safer now than we were eight or twelve years ago? Nope.

And with that dear friends...I bid you all fond adieu...no more F911 threads for me...

With all the news around Disney dropping it, it was bound to get news if Disney keep it too. Also the many people do know of the Miramax Disney connection.

I agree! I Don't think Disney could win on this one... It is the first major decision that they have made that I think was a step in the right direction of getting back to FAMILY!

Won't touch that one for the other side is just as bad. People are leaning to far left or right nowadays.

Anyway, have you seen the trailer for National Treasure by Jerry Bruckheimer and Touchstone? It looks really good.

That IS nice to know. Maybe there's hope for the future of this country after all. Assuming we survive the present.

They definately could have "won" had they not given the go ahead and $6 million to produce it in the first place.

Its no different from giving a serial killer $6 million to produce a documentary for one of their studios and then being scared to release it due to the content.

They knew what they were funding, this isn't Moore's first film.

It was idiotic on Disney's part; fund it, then refuse to release it.

If they didn't want to have to pick sides they shouldn't have had anything to do with it in the first place.

What are the chances of Steve letting us start a polital thread as long as we all promise to behave?
