Doesn't Disney's Art of Animation Resort sound exactly like Disney's All-Star Movies Resort? Please build Legendary Years! :fork:

I would have loved to have seen pop finished. But Animation will be awesome. Not the same as movies. Movies is themed as Movies and films. This will be more immersive in the dedicated move in which you are staying.

In looking at the artist drawings of the resort and sneek peeks they showed on the local FOX, I do not see any similarities between Art of Animation and Movies. Looks like to me that Art of Animation is a bit MORE detailed then Movies, especially the overall theming of the rooms themselves.

From the art I have seen so far it does not look anything like ASMovies. I really like the theming of the art of animation resort and can not wait to see it finished. I am a little bummed about the interior of the rooms, the do look a little retro with the furniture, but that is just my personal taste.

Is Disney's Art of Animation Resort going to be a value or a moderate resort? I am not sure because of the theming

From what I understand its going to be a value, (correct me if I'm wrong).
I think this is a very good theme. We was at Pop last year for the first time, while the resort is great, driving up to it and seeing the "ghost buildings" first was weird to me. Can't wait to stay at the new place!

I like the shift from Legendary Years to Animation. What were we going to see in the Legendary Years that would be of any interest to any of us......The Charleston?

I wouldn't be shocked if Pop Century is eventually re-themed as another section of Art of Animation.

Wasn't that rumored at some point?

I'd be surprised if this doesn't happen eventually. It's just a question of when. I figure the Animation half of the complex will be far more popular than the half that celebrates the yo-yo and the cell phone.

Honestly, I don't know what they were thinking when they picked the them for Pop Century. It's neat in a kitschy way. But it's the very opposite of timeless. Every year, more and more kids will point at ginat statues and say "What's that?"

When it was first announced, I too shared the above sentiments. But as time has progressed, and seeing at how TDO invests its money (or rather, doesn't), I think it highly unlikely that they will re-theme any of Pop Century.

To me I do not care what they call the Pop/Animation Resorts I am just happy that they will finally completing the entire complex and not seeing it half done anymore.

That's a strong argument. But I keep coming back to the idea that Art of Animation will be wildly more popular that Pop once it opens. I think Disney will see dollar signs and act accordingly.

Of course, that theory is contingent on AoA being a smashing success. If it's not as popular as I expect it will be, you're right that Disney won't spend the money. At least not for a long while.

Leave TDO alone! It's not up to them to invest in WDW, so don't be such an idiot!
