Yeah I totally agree. Hopefully with a new take on Pandora in CA and a different style Cars experience in FL we won't see as much direct 1:1 cloning as more recent decades.

I do think looking at what they're developing elsewhere in parallel can help guide some expectation around ride systems, technology, concepts that may find themselves expressed in the DLForward space.
This is my take on future projects as well, more cloned rides systems and less cloned concepts.

I was trying to think of “classic” Uni rides and I can’t think of anything that has the same nostalgia factor of Pirates, Mansion, Space, etc at Disney, I think the closest would have been Jaws and they already tore that out. My second thought was maybe Jurassic Park but they’ve already completely redone that to Jurassic World also, my third thought was Back to the Future and that’s been gone for ages already… I can’t think of anything old at Uni that would be untouchable. I think Potter is but that’s only 20 years old so not really comparable to a 60 year old Disney ride.
ET is the only one I can think of. While Spider-Man is a great ride integral to IOA, and probably old enough to be considered as such, it's an action-based screen ride with CGI which doesn't feel very "classic". Some parts of the Studio Tour could probably be deemed such as well but since the ride also has modern sets/offices and screen tunnels the ride as a whole doesn't seem too "classic".

This is a great point - the Studio Tour as a whole is definitely a classic in my book. That said they have redeveloped a ton of its signature moments I wish I could have seen myself like:

animatronic Kong,
the Battlestar Galactica show scene
parting of the Red Sea

or even the ones I did get to see that have since closed like:

Jaws

Mummy has become a classic in Orlando, that and ET vie for most beloved classic attraction.
Personally I feel the love for Men in Black more than Mummy but that's just me :)

I love MIb but I fear for it, the ride manufacturer is out of business, the franchise is dead, the ride has a lot of stuff broken in it and it sits between a section about to be torn down and a theatre that’s hardly used. I have a feeling the electric rat is coming for it.

Sad and true - I think its both Cat in the Hat and Men in Black that use this ride system where the vendor is out of business. No idea how difficult it is to retrack the ride and use something more modern for both rides. I'd really like to see both be rejuvenated and restored as opposed to bulldozed

Can you give us the points of this. Not generally a fan of watching these videos but 2 hours please give us the cliff notes on their opinion.
I would tend to agree that these videos can drag on at times. However, this one is really informative and Brickey provides some wonderful insight on design and the ability to find opportunities to delight guests as they expand the parks. Very much a worthwhile viewing.

I still want some cliffnotes, too. Why would I do a long video watch without knowing the premise? A new episode of the Sopranos I haven't seen even has cliffnotes LOL

I missed it, but the Micechat rumour doesn't really add up to me. As I've said elsewhere, the entry and queue can be routed around the backside of the coaster quite easily.

Coco is also a 2026 project, it's not even fully formed. So I was sort of with them, until the 3rd gate nonsense. Avatar is also an Iger chosen priority. Micechat has also had zero substantiated inside information for the better part of a decade now.

Other than the purported location of Pandora (which was leaked here), a ton of DCA announcements were completely missed... but now they are suddenly in the know?

Since we know that Disneyland Forward is a multi-decade expansion, I think we should be assuming that any new capacity attractions should be in the current perimeters of the parks before Disney needs to expand into the Disneyland Forward. I think the only aspect of "Disneyland Forward" we'll see in the next few years would be the new transport loop behind the Backlot to increase that section of the park

With space at such a premium it really does seem like keeping Avatar in the backlot and Coco behind Pixar Pier is the best way to maximize the land they have and add the most capacity

This whole idea that by retaining Monsters Inc they're somehow improving the ride count is ridiculous

Hopefully Micechat is wrong about that. The only way I support keeping Monsters Inc is if they build the Doors Coaster/ Monstropolis around it, put Coco in Pixar Pier (or the bus transpo area) and Avatar in the Simba lot.

That's the only way it would make sense - but even then the showbuilding sits directly in the center of the backlot + busloop area so it would be really hard to work around that if they plan to use the bus loop to its full potential

That micechat rumor just screams band-aid solution

I feel like this the below is very doable but I’m fine with Avatar in the backlot/ bus transpo and Coco in Pixar Pier. The only issue is the timing. They might not want to wait for the Simba lot for Avatar.

Coco = Orange
Monstropolis = blue
Doors Coaster = Purple

Has anyone noticed that hardly any of the chatter is surrounding the Avengers ride? I understand that we know where it’s going but I mean there seems to be very low anticipation/ interest in that ride. Might work in its favor.

The one thing that the OC55 episode with Brickey did bring up that I found interesting is the possibility the show building (no matter if Avatar or Coco) being integrated into the Harbor entrance itself. Basically having guests walk under or over the showbuilding so that all the space is maximized.
