My brother (he's a bit of a lurker on this site) and I just moved to Glendale. This is something he might be interested in, I'll have to ask him. :)

And yeah, we're right up the road from the "Tam." Really cool place, looks like a scaled-up Toad Hall inside and out. In fact, that's the dish I got. "Toad in the Hole" lol. Some awesome memorabilia on the walls too.

Oh, cool! How long have you and your brother been in SoCal for?

Just about a month. I had visited LA once before in 2000, and fell in love. He's starting school over here in a couple weeks, I came out with him (we're from RI) to split the rent and give it a shot. We timed everything perfectly: At D-Land on the 17th last month to buy our APs. So they would be printed with the date July 17 2013 on them. lol

Nice! What school will your brother be attending? Is it hard for you guys to get used to the LA culture?

That was very clever of you to buy your AP on July 17th! If you keep renewing on the same day, you should be able to be there for our 60th coming up in a few years. Of curse it depends on which AP you bought. Now you're one of us, one of the locals.:)

I was thinking we could go to The Grove and Farmer's Market to hang out. Have you and your brother been there before?

Art Center in Pasadena. Umm, nah, feels really comfortable here, we're like totally used to it already. Hehehehe and yeah, we had to get the Premium, for the free parking and no blackout dates. We felt cornered. Ya dig?

The Grove/Farmer's Market sounds like the best option, I would think... I like it there.

Oh, cool. Usually it takes people a while to get used to it. The Premium is of course the best option, especially because of the free parking. I can definitely understand that. Do you have APs to any other parks?

I'm glad you've been before. When you talk to your brother, come back and let us know if he's down to go.

Are you up for Farmer's Market/Grove/Andre's? Andre's is right across the street from the Grove.

Have to wait and see. I'll know more in about a week or, more likely, two ... when plans start getting nailed down.
But generally I'm always up in that area at some point ... but if I'm on my way to a party and all dressed up, I probably won't have time (or want) to hang out. It's got to be when time isn't an issue.

Ok. Let us know.

We should probably take this discussion private when we start making plans etc.

Sorry, that I can't do so now, but the trip is business related with some fun thrown in, so I have to work around things.

Ok, that's fine with me. No problem about not being able to make plans now, I completely understand.

Glad you understand because it is ticking me off, bigtime ... usually, I can plan this far out. I have to admit, I don't even have this week fully planned out yet, but is is early!
Spirit I can't believe you are going to blow your cover...I expect a new thread on 9/12 claiming the spirit truely is Michael Eisner.

I know I'm not really a long timer on the board, but I've been hanging around both DL and WDW for quite a while. I have three days at DLR before making some hops to other business from the afternoon of the 13th through the evening of the 15th. If you will be there during this time and don't mind a new interloper, drop me a PM. I will be flying solo on this trip and only have a couple of things planned but nothing that can't be shifted. If adult beverages are involved, even better.

That's probably sooner than I can meet, unfortunately. No plans made yet, but likely flying in during that period and 'probably' not doing DL until 16th or 17th at the earliest (doing three days, four if I can my way in!) ... but if you are down in the Anaheim area before, it is possible I could meet for drinks or coffee or something like that.
