Hmmm

So, let me prepare this statement with take this with a pile of salt big enough to kill the morton salt girl...

BUT, it seems something is scheduled internally (currently unclear exactly who this is going out to) relating to parks (not clear from which division TDA vs TDO) on the 22nd.

I will say to keep expectations low. But for context the last time something like this was scheduled this way was the riviera opening media day (at WDW). What I'm hearing is it may just be the start of some promotion for the parks though.

Again, pile of salt big enough to kill with this as these things do change often and fast.

How do you hear of such things?

That's actually great insight and info! Thank you for sharing, even if it just turns out to be some cheesy Parks Blog post about the latest line of Disney face masks that we should all buy AHORA!

If you keep your ear to the ground, the mouse makes a lot of loud footsteps along the way. ;)

I think it's going to be bigger than a blog post, but it could also be something to do with WDW's 50th rather than anything to do with DLR. Basically I've heard their rumblings, but nothing beyond the rumblings.

is this Anything that would show up on the Hub? Or high up CMs only? Because I can ask my sister CM in WDW to verify these things (like when they did the Rivera opening).

I wanna hear the mouse rumble!!

I mentioned this earlier. The pictures of new signage in the esplanade someone posted a comment (can't remember if it was fb or twitter) that they have the insider information that disney will try and do a food thing similar to knott's and expect an announcement with in a week or two. Now with the ramblings of some being called back (was it merchandise?) and potential announcement coming on the 22nd, this could be falling in line with what they said.
But who knows. I know we are all hopeful for any tid bits we read/hear.
Someone in merch. To which someone responding no one in food has been called back. The amount of merch stocking that probably needs to be done between pulling some stuff and stocking holiday stuff and redoing displays is probably not small so I can see why someone in merch got called back.

But they’re not having a food festival without the folks in food.

I was speaking this over with my husband, and personally, now I would be shocked if they did a food festival now. They could have done this
back in June (may? July? Idk what month it is when Knott’s started) and now that they have Sacramento listening and Josh has made public comments, other Disney high ups have made comments that they “are ready just tell us we have the ok!” And Newsom has been making public comments that things are getting closer. As excited as I am for any little bit of Disneyland, that’ll wear quickly if that means that Disney accepts those conditions and that satisfies Newsom and he says “Well your parks ARE open,” with no hurry for the rest of the park. But, 2020 is a shocking year so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Doing more digging into this, I suspect (99%) it's something to do with WDW marketing preparing for the 50th rather than anything to do with DLR (unfortunately).
😭
I thought it had to be something here. Timing was too good. Plus they don’t have all of their 50th anniversary stuff together yet in WDW for any filming. Too much construction.

Also, kind of a tangent, but don’t forget that survey that @Tamandua received for 14-18 and 21-22.

Not sure if this means anything, but i am currently on the official DLR website and can book a stay at either Disney's Grand Californian or Paradise Pier hotels right now for late September.
Any date after September 16th.

Not that i would book a stay at one of those choices ( $689 / $382..??! Um, no...) but i was curious as to if i could do so after the rumored date.

The Disneyland Hotel is not available, as we already know.

They just booked me at Disneyland Hotel after 2 “unable to accommodate” emails for 9/17 Grand Californian. We are arrive Disneyland Hotel now 12/1/20. Previously they gave me DH rates at GC Sorry to see that rate go!

New York still closed. Massachusetts too, I believe.

Waiting for the update that it’s 4:15 on a late summer weekend so Gavin is already off to his evening yoga and we won’t be hearing about Peter Pan’s Flight this week.

C’mon, Gavykins. Please?

Massachusetts is for the most part 'open'.
Only thing i can think of that is still not allowed to open is arcades / game centers.
Indoor dining is limited but happening, and outdoor dining has been going full blast since June or so.
The local movie theaters, shopping malls, and local theme parks are all also all currently operating.

MA however also does still have the required two week quarantine requirement for anyone traveling here from what they consider a 'high risk' State.
So it sucks to be a Disney Theme Park fan from MA if you want to travel but don't want to lose two weeks of work pay....... as of course the two States highest on their 'list' is CA and FL.

But fluff it....i am goin' to Orlando in a week and a half.
After this apocolyptic year, i NEED a 'three week vacation'....!
Covid can KISS IT..!
( makes smacking sounds )

Disney should start a marketing campaign showcasing the parks, highlighting safety measures, and future offerings in an attempt to sway public opinion in Socal to be more favorable for a timely Disneyland reopen.

I have always felt that Disneyland will have NO problems at all filling the daily capacity allowances whenever they are able to reopen.
Why...?

Three words -

'Local Annual Passholders'

Or for the more bemused, FOUR words _

'Local Annual Passholder Vloggers'

After being literally 'locked out' of the place for the past six months+ , i expect them to swarm the place like a frenzied hoard of freshly hatched mosquitoes who only have two hours to live when the gates open.

;)

Hmmm...wonder why Six Flags New England chose to stay closed.

Does MA have the option to test within 72 hrs? Get a nose test in FL a couple days before you board the plane.

My bad....I was thinking of the fabulous Canobie Lake Park which is in reality just across the border in NH.
MA must still have restrictions for theme parks if Six Flags is closed.
I know that arcades, game rooms, and even 'Chuck E. Cheese's' in this area are still not allowed to open.
CEC is take out food service only in MA, and has been since April.

Regarding the 72 hour Covid test option -
Yes, one returning to or visiting MA can bypass the required two week quarenteen if they are tested and come back negative.

I'd rather have the two weeks off to be honest, then have someone shove a q-tip up my nose.....but that's just how I roll.
I have a garage to paint before the winter weather hits, so this actually works rather nicely for me.

We chose to quarantine as well—had the luxury of being able to do so before school started.

We plan to go to CA in April. SURELY these travel restrictions will be over by then...I hope.

Does anyone else feel like this is just one long play on Groundhog Day with a weird Truman Show twist?

Tuesdays especially around here.

Where we are still closed. But hoping that the shadows will align and we can make our way back to the mainland and Disney. Appreciate all the updates! 🤙🏽

Homelessness in California will never be resolved until we make an effort to understand how to prevent it. I don't buy the notion that most homeless people in California are resistant to permanent housing. From what I can tell the shelter programs in most California cities are nothing more than revolving doors. I can't imagine that this isn't obvious to most unhoused people, so why would they bother with offers to stay in a temporaty shelter?

OAN, I'd be surprised if the two DLR parks were fully operational before Christmas.

Sort of like, why would I stay in a particular temp shelter if they are all really temporary in their perspective? I always got the impression from the homeless folk that they were seen as a respite rather than a residence from my time in Seattle and Chicago.

Oh no doubt about it. Ca has what? Little over a million passholders. It'll be filled with no issues.

Oh, it'll be filled, and not just the locals. I just bought plane tickets and a hotel room for Halloween weekend. I'll fly down from Seattle, enjoy the festival at Knotts, wander around DTD, relax a bit, and head back . Now, I wouldn't normally come down with the parks closed, but with miles and points the only $$ I'm out is for my rental car and the ticket to Knotts. So for around $100, why not?
