Yes
Haha no one...so far šŸ˜‚
I will say, I definitely WONT book a room, but I do absolutely look forward to trying the dining there! Never been, and with our anniversary and birthdays celebrated at home during this COVID time, we told ourselves we are going to do Napa Rose once it opened as an all-encompassing ā€œhoorayā€!

Folks arenā€™t screaming ā€œthink of the CMs and the families they need to feed.ā€ Seems like folks are just eager to see Mickey and ride Space Mountain.

I know we live in a risky world, but we need to prioritize in special situations.

People need to get creative for their withdrawal. Watch some footage of the parks on YouTube and pretend youā€™re there. I understand wanting to escape to Disneyland during these times, but again, priorities.
Easier to just convince yourself itā€™s all media hype that has suckered in thousands of doctors and medical professionals all around the world. Being the media, you would think that Disney and Comcast would have thought this through more.

I suspect the 16th date rumor was always for hotel reopening anyways not the actual Parks. As every reopening has had the resort hotels open a week or two before the Parks. Now why anyone would want to stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel without Disneyland/DCA being open is beyond me, but to each their own.
I would have thought that mad sense before I saw the original DLR opening where the hotels were a week after the parks.

"I've booked a hotel room at Disneyland before the parks reopen. Just to feel something. Anything magical."- Some random Disneyland Vlogger
Vlog: Hey guys!!! I went big and booked the Grand CA for this once in a lifetime opportunity! And let me tell you- it is magical! I had the whole lobby to myself for these beautiful pictures! And look at this private entrance to DtD!!

Reality: 30 mins in was texting their friend ā€œomg SO BORED! Who the *bleep* would do this without Disneyland open?!!*

They honestly need GCH open due to DVC. But, obviously thereā€™s no point in opening much before the parks. There are certainly local DVC owners who would gladly use some points to enjoy a resort weekend and pretend to world isnā€™t ending. Kids might as well do Zoom school with a new background to make the other kidsā€™ moms jelly. Now why anyone would stay anywhere other than GCH is beyond me.
ā€œHi Madison and Arabella! Guess where I am today!ā€
ā€œNo idea. Itā€™s a yellow wall.ā€
ā€œIā€™m in DISNEYLAND!ā€
ā€Oh...did ya get a Boarding Group?ā€
ā€No but hereā€™s a Mickey waffle!ā€
ā€Kids, track to me on the screen and show me how you used the box method to solve 35x12!ā€
ā€Sorry, Mrs. McPatrick!ā€

I've seen plenty post about the needs of CMs and their families all over the internet, even on this forum. The previous reopening thread was full of chants about CMs and their families. However it gets far to political when that discussion comes up which is why its not really in this thread. But I'll say it so its in this thread, I'm afraid that if DLR doesn't reopen soon their is going to be so many CMs out on the street not able to feed their families. I'm sure its already started to happen to some CMs.

I know we live in a risky world, but we need to prioritize in special situations.
Again at a certain point you just have to accept a certain amount of risk. And that risk level is very personal, so your risk level might be lower than mine as you may only want to do things with a very low level of risk. This virus is going to be with us now permanently, and that is something we just have to accept. So as things reopen you're going to have to choose based on your personal risk level what things you're going to want to do. Disneyland is obviously not worth the risk at this point for you, and that is fine for you. But for others they maybe ok with the risk, again very personal.

I already know that even after Disneyland reopens I'm sure there will be many, maybe yourself included, that will constantly being saying it reopened too soon. I get it, maybe can even see your point of view. But doesn't mean I completely agree with it.

And that may have worked in the initial days of this pandemic. But we're heading into the 6 month of this closure and people are getting frustrated and antsy. So they are thinking about themselves and their mental stability only at this point.

Exactly what I was thinking as I read the comments in this thread. Very baby-ish behavior.

I hope the opening of Disneyland or any theme park for that matter as a guest is not the number one priority for folks (I could understand it coming from the perspective of a CM). If people are that desperate to see The Mouse, WDW is open.
UGGG!! Yes!!! You horrid people who want amusement parks to open in CA are going to MURDER PEOPLE!

So go do it in FL.

Can you link to that by any chance? Iā€™m having an awful time trying to understand the math here.
Here is the quote:
"The case rate will no longer be the 14-day case rate with a 3-day lag, which had a threshold of 100. Instead, it will be a 7-day case rate with a 7-day lag (with cases still assigned by episode date). It is a 7-day average of the daily case rate, not a total like for the 14-day rate (so you have to divide by 7 when you add up the cases in a 7-day period) "

So.... 100/2 = 50; 50/7 = about 7

People in California I know are fed up with having nothing to do but watch Netflix and order takeout. Now, I don't know that many people, but those I do know agree with me logically that as long as people can pack into major retail stores and it's considered safe, there's no reason Disneyland can't safely reopen.

No, I got that part. But is there anything to indicate where a county is in it's current waiting period? Does it have one week left? Two? Half a week? Purple? Blue?
We have more information on the initial County tier status and how long its going to take Orange County to get to Red:

"Initial step applied on August 28, 2020:
  1. Each county is assigned to a tier based on an adjusted case rate and test positivity from the prior two reporting periods. If a county's case rate and test positivity measure fall into two different tiers, the county will be assigned the more restrictive tier.
  2. This tier status will be effective on Monday, August 31, 2020.
  3. If a county is initially assigned to Purple Tier 1 and has met the criteria for a less restrictive tier the prior week, the county only needs to meet the criteria for a less restrictive tier for one more week to move to the Red Tier 2. (For the September 8, 2020 assignment, a county does not need to remain in the Purple Tier 1 for three weeks. For all subsequent assessments, a county must remain in a tier for three weeks and meet the criteria to advance as described below.)"
So that means that as long as Orange County meets the Red tier criteria for one more week it'll move into the Red tier starting the 8th.

Agreed.

Now, I'm not sure that we SHOULD be packing into major retail stores, but if the state is going to allow THAT, then it makes no sense not to open DL with restrictions. Especially when other theme parks in the state have been open with restrictions (Discovery Kingdom's Zoo Days, Knott's food festival, SeaWorld, etc.).

If I were a business owner in Anaheim, this inconsistancy in the rules make me angry and frustrated.

This.

In my county's report, the same date was mentioned for our downgrade to Red also. I think we have to wait a week for data to settle a bit and then we will get a different rainbow map that is going to stick for a bit.

That part I agree with. Maskless ragers with 200 people need to stop, but a DL run like WDW is being run would have very low risk.
