Disneyland To Open Sept. 16th?

Good news today! Disneyland didn’t push reservations, as they do every Thursday morning. The next “push” (per previous pattern) would have been for reservations to start Sept 19 onward. And it would have cancelled all of the newly-made Sept 16-and-onward reservations (that—as of 5 mins ago—can still be made). Is Disney waiting for the guidelines to drop tomorrow? Are they planning on only opening hotels Sept 16? Who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ But it is a change in pattern that has happened for months now.
I’m going to embrace your optimism personally but I am also going to remind folks WDW did the same thing a couple of times and then proceeded to cancel on Friday.

I’ve been trying to get a hold of him for the last week...

Me and the other Bob just really wants to open the place already!

I just went to a barber shop in La Jolla this afternoon where the door is locked and the front windows are covered in black curtains, and you go in thru the back door off a side alley and promise not to tell Sacramento that you got a haircut.

Maybe there's a way to get people into Disneyland off of Ball Road, instead of Harbor Blvd. and the main entrance?

If it helps any, I tipped the young barber $20 on a $25 haircut, so there's money to be made by running a speakeasy.

Judging by all the civilians in San Diego I've seen with fresh haircuts the past few weeks, there's a strong market.

Same stands true in OC🤭 I asked my hair dresser how business has been and she told me it’s been relatively steady and unchanged despite being “closed” as far as Sacramento knows. It was a surreal feeling smuggling cash in my purse and entering a back alleyway just to get my hair trimmed 😂 a colleague of mine was even talking about doing the same for waxes and nails.

Maybe we can all say we are “staying at the Grand Californian” and enter DCA that way... unless a helicopter snitches on us, Newsom doesn’t need to know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Isn't it hysterical?! 🤣

The ladies in my neighborhood had been doing that exact thing for months. There's an entire underground economy in OC and San Diego (and probably LA) where people get haircuts and manicures and pedicures by going through the back door of a technically "closed" business.

My barber up in OC was/is doing the same thing earlier this summer after Governor Newsom closed barber shops and hair salons again two months ago.

I had to ask the young bartender at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, who had an obviously fresh haircut, where a man could go in town for a fresh cut. I got the "hookup" as the kids say, and I was off and running. (Always tip your bartender, you never know how they can help!)

The barbershop this afternoon was crammed full of customers and barbers, all behind the blacked out front windows. I chatted with a mother who was getting her two young sons haircuts for their return to school next week; she was delightful and so fun to talk with! She had such a sane and rational view on the current situation.

But seriously. At some point, @TheRealBobIger should just consider reopening Disneyland by operating a backdoor off of Ball Road, where AP's and savvy locals could get in to Disneyland under the radar just like they've been doing for months for haircuts and manicures.

I haven't blocked anyone. You think I'm a Democrat??

I've always assumed you are an Independent like myself. But when I just tried to message you with subversive information on how to get your hair cut in central Orange County, I got this message... "This member limits who may view their full profile" and my private message to you was formally rebuffed.

Just Google the name so you know where you're going, then call that number and leave a message with your name and number. Ask for an appointment with "Ajay". They'll call you back and take care of you. You'll need to scope it out first so you can see where it is and what the street number is on the closed business, then enter through the back door on the back side of the building with the corresponding street number above the back door. If you want this, you have to work for it a bit. I can't do everything.

I was always sad that I missed the drama of Prohibition. And then Covid came along and gave us new opportunities!

I updated my privacy settings I think, but I don't know. You can try again.

You didn’t hear it from me but @realBobChapek and I are thinking about opening the gate from Ball Road by TDA for AP’s to enter!

That's good to know. The speakeasy style is the latest craze in SoCal. Everyone is doing it for big profits; barbers, manicurists, hair stylists, Botox parlors, bars, physical trainers, masseurs, etc.

You could make some serious money by operating Disneyland like that. It won't help save the 4th quarter, but Fiscal '21 could start with a bang!

Wait a second.... George Lucas isn’t a Democrat? Or you mean to tell me you’re not the real George Lucas? 🤔
