News Disneyland to give Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride a major facelift in 2020

I don't know about Mr. Toad, but I'm actually more worried about Pinocchio existing much longer at all, what with that one petition at Change.org to remove it after Splash Mountain because it seems to suggest child slavery, which circulated online for a time. I'm just glad that petition didn't get a lot of traction. Or maybe they're just laying low, biding their time.

I wouldn't mind so much if they just removed the "jackass" dialogue so much. You could just have the Coachman say, "So, you blokes choose the easy life, do you?", which is one of the random lines you hear in the ride.
Another iconic anthem they'll have to replace. Perhaps with one of the Moana songs?

I was just in a conversation about this on a WDW forum earlier. Yes the ride is probably worse now on the whole, but at least TDA puts a little effort into... “upgrading”... their classic attractions rather than turning them into meet and greets. Those on the East Coast are not so lucky.

Pinocchio is for sure going away. My old Fantasyland pals who still work at the park told me so. The petition worked.

Prepare for an announcement between Valentine’s Day and Saint Patrick’s Day 2021.
You can't be serious right now...
The main theme song from Pinocchio is at the start of every single Disney film.
This has to be ironic.

Let us never forget this propaganda-

She's very dismissive of the park's fans. Almost derisive towards them. Tony Baxter would never talk about the fans like she does.

Oh, and this quote 🤣 "Kim Irvine is arguably the person most responsible for maintaining the look and feel of Disneyland"

You’re right, I’m not.

I thought the mentioning of Valentine’s Day and Saint Patrick’s Day would have made it known it was an obvious joke, but I guess not.😬 Our friend @mharrington tends to easily believe things they read on the internet. Just wanted to show them that not everything they read is true. :)

It’s not going anywhere, as far as I know.

I posted that comment to make the point that not everything on the internet should be taken as fact. It was a joke.😉

I wondered.... I almost commented about how most CM's working those attractions are absolutely clueless about future park decisions.

But also, if there was a Fantasyland ride go entirely- it'd be Pinocchio. It's not 'original' (even though none are at this point). It doesn't have Alice on top of it so it would be easier to gut and rebuild into a new ride. And it doesn't have 45 minute waits from open to close.

I read it as a joke at first. But then I thought about it a bit more. I wouldn't put it past them. As ridiculous as it is, I could see them using it as an excuse to replace with a Frozen or Tangled ride.

Exactly. Regular park CMs don’t know what’s going on outside of the park operations. I wouldn’t trust anything a CM said.

Yes, I also believe if they were to completely gut a dark ride, it would be Pinocchio. Pan, Snow, and Alice are clearly not going anywhere anytime soon. To remove Toad, they’d have to shut down Alice, as it literally sits on top of Toad and the rides are connected by a room (literally). Pinocchio seems to be the most vulnerable.

Well, the problem is, there have been times where many other rumors that were so unbelievable as to not sound true, turned out to be true after all. Remember the long-standing rumor of the Tower of Terror being replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy and how that was so unbelievable that no one could be that serious? Well, guess what? It was true after all.

The same thing went with the rumor of Splash Mountain being replaced with something themed to "The Princess and the Frog". That rumor seemed unbelievable as well, but it happened.

So frankly, nothing is off the table. Believing things is pretty much all I can do to minimize surprise, of which I am no fan.

I didn’t say it was off the table.

You are more worried about Pinocchio getting axed because of a petition. Regarding Splash, that petition didn’t ultimately get the ride changed. They had already been planning a change prior to that petition.

The ride is fine right now. I wouldn’t worry about an exit in the near future at this moment.

Well, I didn't know about anything of the sort until the petition appeared. It was only afterwards that Disney formally announced it. Coincidence? I think not.

Now, if the only thing they did with Pinocchio was to modify it with screens and somehow lighten the mood, but not actually remove the ride, that would be interesting.

Pinocchio‘s Daring Journey has the “live action” remake to help keep it “relevant.”

Yes, well, that depends on how much money makes. Or if it will be limited to Disney Plus material. Movie theaters may yet reopen, but I don't think studios are going to abandon the theater-and-streaming strategy any time soon.
