It is noticeably busier today, but mild for a Saturday. It's sunny but cooler today and breezy, about 68 in Anaheim now. I was out running errands and missed the 2pm wait times, but here's what it looks like at 4pm for the E Tickets...

Jungle Cruise, Grizzly River Run - 5 Minutes
Pirates, Small World - 10 Minutes
Splash Mountain, Submarines - 15 Minutes
Thunder Mountain, Millennium Falcon, Chase-A-Baby - 35 Minutes
Indiana Jones - 45 Minutes
Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Soarin', Guardians of Galaxy, Radiator Racers - 55 Minutes

Notably, nothing is posted higher than 60 minutes. The C and D Tickets are in the 5 to 30 minute range.

Again, about right to maybe slightly longer than they should be this time of year.

Guardians has gone down to one tower and reduced capacity multiple times this past week contributing to inflated wait times. Soarin was barely open at all the other day and has continued to break down, along with an odd amount of breakdowns on Racers recently as well. I feel like those wait times also get inflated because of guests who are waiting to experience those attractions once they reopen. I wouldn't doubt other rides running at reduced capacity inflating waiting times also. So I don't think the wait times are properly indicating that the crowd levels are as high or higher as they usually are this time of year. It was fairly busy yesterday though as someone who visited, most likely due to Food and Wine which has been a big hit and probably draws crowds to both parks. The preceding days on the other hand were also verifiable wastelands and far below what it usually is at this time of year...

Here's a silver lining... At 9:15pm the wait time for Space Mountain has now dropped to 10 minutes.

10 Minutes. Ten. And Disneyland is open until Midnight.

I am now seriously contemplating jumping in a Lyft and going to Disneyland this weekend, just to go on E Tickets that only have a 5 or 10 minute wait like it was 1985 again.
If I lived as close as you do nothing could keep me away!

I don't know about that. It seems lighter than usual to me.

I conjured up some graphs at that wonderful Thrill Data website we discovered when Rise Before Dawn opened, and this Saturday versus last Saturday definitely had lighter crowds. Here are graphs for three popular E Tickets that are not dependent on the weather to pull a crowd (Splash Mt., Grizzly), and do not have multiple ride systems or variable loading areas or vehicles that could reduce their capacity while still remaining open and tracking a wait time (Soarin', Guardians, Millennium Falcon, Star Tours, Submarines, Small World, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Matterhorn, Chase-A-Baby).

These three very popular E Tickets either work, or they don't, with very little variability; Space Mountain, Radiator Racers, Indy, and seem to be a perfect baseline to use. You can see that their wait times dropped noticeably from last Saturday in red, compared to this Saturday in blue.

In related news, this search on Thrill Data revealed that there are some truly bizarre theme park rides in this country that I never knew about! I was considering taking advantage of the dropping airfares and hotel rates due to Coronavirus to take a Switzerland vacation this summer, but now I am considering doing a See America First! vacation where I visit the following fabulously named theme park rides;

Catwoman Whip - Six Flags Over Texas
Scat-A-Bout - Discovery Kingdom
Bourbon Street Fireball - Six Flags Great America
returning the next morning for...
Mardi Gras Hangover - Six Flags Great America
Cookie Drop! - Sea World Orlando
Reese's Cupfusion - Hershey Park
Art of Torture - Six Flags Over Texas

Seriously, these are some of the best attraction names ever. How did I not know of these?!?

Well, I had to Google Cookie Drop because I haven't been to Sea World since Universal Studios Florida still had the Alfred Hitchcock show and, frankly, what the heck. I was not disappointed.

That's about what I expected! I just hope there's not a maximum height or weight requirement that prevents me from going on this.

I'm too scared to Google photos of Catwoman Whip or Scat-A-Bout.

Last Saturday is definitely different than this Saturday, you will continue to see lighter crowds (and they may even get slightly lighter still) until schools spring breaks start, this is actually normal. The last couple of years, Disney took some steps that made the pattern not hold true with massive discounts and such, but we are finally getting back to the normal patterns.

We have passes for Discovery Kingdom, but I really don't pay much attention to the ride names. Turns out the Scat-A-Bout is one of my daughter's faves. Thank you so much for pointing out it's hysterical name!

I mean if you think about it, it’s kind of gross that we wipe ourselves with some dry paper and consider ourselves “clean.” With that said, I have a bidet at home and have used it zero times. The problem is the only place it’s convenient to use is at home and at that point why not just shower?

I agree, not sure why we do not use Bider here in the USA more. It is a much cleaner alternative

TouringPlans scored below-average crowd numbers for the entire months of January and February. Rise Before Dawn did not kick off any notable attendance surge. This past week you typically see crowds start to inch up slightly as the weather improves and early spring vacationers start to pour in. Instead, attendance has collapsed back to June 2019 levels.

I think it's now basically certain that SWGE will never deliver what it was supposed in its 2-3 years as a new land.

I am sure they are looking at more than attendance, The land is doing pretty well bringing in plenty of money with all the booked cantina slots, light saber building and robot building. Add to that all the extra merchandise.

Decided to go to the resort on Saturday. Entered the park when the first showing of Magic happens was gong on so mainstreet was busy and people seemed to be enjoying the parade. Once the parade finished the crowds settled and it wasn't to bad Busy not uncomfortable. walked around a bit in Tomorrowland with space mountain having a decent wait as did Autopia. Surprisingly Star Tours only had a 20 minute wait and Buzz a 10 minute wait.

Crossed over to DCA at 5:30 and was surprised that DCA felt way much more crowded. The parade route was packed and the wait time in most of the food vending booth were minimum 10 to 20 people long. I was also surprised to see the Paradise park was packed with people getting ready to see PHAT CAT. I hadn't seen that many people for these shows before normally previous shows in Paradise park are pretty empty because of the hot sun in an open air show. he nice cool weather was really helping .

DCA had enough people to even give the zephyr a line, i was actually surprised that they had it running when earlier the winds were strong.
