I checked back on the Tiki Room permit. It's still hung up in the approval process:

Route to Struct/Architectual 12/27/2017 1/18/2018 1/8/2018 CORR ITW

CORR = Corrections made to submitted plans. All other departments have approved it

Glad to see that finally being addressed. Surprised Anaheim Public Utilities hasn't pushed them to do it earlier. As someone who just went through a major Kitchen remodel, the building codes required LED light fixtures in the new construction areas. It makes sense for so many reasons.
Been there. Last year I remodeled the entire downstairs and put in a new electrical panel. Arcane doesn't begin to describe the permitting and building code process.

I went Solar a few years ago, now that WAS Fun. One inspector said it was OK to repair the stucco, the next one demanded it be removed, so he could inspect the work under it....

I think cuts would improve this specific project in particular.

Yeah but a cut would mean less, and for a project this bare bones less is definitely not more. Any detail they can do, even though it's more damned IP, the better.

So, earlier this month, had a large tree removed from my front yard (no permit needed). But we had it removed, since the roots where getting close to our house foundation (concrete slab). So had a contractor out today to address the masonry wall damage. (A 5 foot by 8 foot section).
And now we need another permit. It will take at least three inspections to get the project finished, and the city will charge $225 foe the permit.

Alas, the original wall (fence) was built in the mid 1960's, and there were no codes for the work.

So now 1% of my fence will be up to code...

Is that why you're not going to fix your animatronic yeti?
