Disneyland Paris v. WDW

Does DLP have a lot of hotels? I like being able to walk if I can, so that's a primary reason that we generally spent way too much and stayed in a Deluxe resort (we now own a bit of DVC, but so be it). Which hotels at DLP are closest? And how much is the room rate? If there's a website to check it out, I'd be glad to do so.

Thanks.

All of the official Disney hotels (besides Davy Crockett Ranch) at Disneyland Paris are within walking distance. There's not as much to do at them as there is a Deluxe WDW hotel, but hotels like the New York, Sequoia, and DL Hotel all have a good amount to do.

My recommendation for the intersection of quality and value would be Sequoia, but I haven't stayed at the others, just visited. We booked Sequoia after doing a lot of research into hotels out there and seeking opinions from those who are DLP experts. I'm very glad we followed their advice.

I'll be doing a DLP planning blog post at some point in the next couple of weeks that will flesh out a lot of what's here.

Indeed. I'd suggest Seqoia. Slightly cheaper than Newport but same rating. Lovely hotel with newly decorated rooms. If you can, pay the bit extra for a Montana lake view room - that's in the main hotel building and not a lodge, the latter can be a bit of a walk.

I've stayed at the New York and felt it wasn't worth the extra over the mods (and a bit bland, but that's just me). Stayed at Newport twice and would again, but the walk is further away and it's due a refurb. Obviously would love to try the DL Hotel with a lottery win.

Expect a ten minute walk from Sequoia, slightly longer from Newport. Both lead around Lake Disney and through the Village to the parks. Or there's a comp shuttle bus.

I'd be happy to answer any specifics you have, Ralph. As would WDWFigment I'm sure. Also, Kevin Yee just did an Amazon book about DLP. Yes, I helped him for it but get no money. It just may help having an Americans point of view.

Wow, thanks for all your help. It's all just a pipe dream at the moment, but if the Disney Magic is in the Mediterranean in 2014, it wouldn't take much to bop up to DLP for a few days as a side trip to a cruise. Thanks again.

If you want to get an idea of how far the hotels are from the park, why not try Google Maps? Use the satellite view and that should give you a good lay of the land.

Hotels in order of closest proximity to the parks:
Disneyland Hotel (Right over the entrance!)
Hotel New York
Sequoia Lodge
Newport Bay Club
Hotel Cheyenne, Hotel Santa Fe (almost equal distance)
