Well, when I have a runDisney event 8:30 is late!
I thought all you who are used to the US events were saying this one starts so late in the morning

@Texas84 - you must be exhausted after all that traveling! And didn't you say you were going to the special evening in the Studios? Hope you enjoyed it. Magic Kingdom was amazing today - we basically walked on to every ride we went on
I did the extra morning hour Saturday and got a lot done. DLP got slammed right about noon. Hour waits for some attractions.
I'm doing pretty well with the time change. Got about 4 hours on the plane then crashed about 2300 Friday night after the party. Didn't even move until the alarm went off at 0600 this morning.
Did DLP until about 1700. Rides open were Rat (awesome, rode twice), Tower, RnRC, and Toy Story Land. All walk-on.

Basic runDisney set-up but obviously a smaller event than WDW or DLR. Event Center looks like a big tent. Enter and get your bib. Go through the expo and get your shirt. Sparse on merch.

That's always been my experience as well on Saturdays - the Magic Kingdom often seems almost empty in the morning and suddenly at lunchtime it is packed with people. We got a very late start today because of the kids races but even so the Studios was crowded but we still managed to do several rides and a show in the short time we were there.

Congrats to all the finishers. It's amazing to see a) expo so empty b) merchandise so slim and organized.

Texas84: That's what I figured about the parks on Saturday. I had made a mistake with our return train tickets (wrong date....we had a room until Sunday but a train ticket for Saturday...)
We could have changed it until Friday but I expected things to get really crowded. On Thursday and Friday it was walk on all day apart from Crush's coaster. Rat was down, "friend" didn't want to wait or come back. Didn't want Crush's either because it was a whole 30 minute wait. and somehow she seemed to have had the feeling that walk on is normal at Disney. (Well in Paris I'm afraid they might be more and more as they get less visitors each year)
I'm glad we overslept on Friday and couldn't change the tickets anymore: had she gone (I couldn't even walk anymore so I wouldn't have anyway) she'd be right back probably and possibly blaming me for that one too like she seemed to do unspoken for everything.
Needless to say, our friendship is over. Guess who got the blame for that one too
