Disneyland officially reopening April 30th

Wow crowds have definitely picked up. All the usual suspects are over an hour now in both DL and DCA. I said a few weeks ago I expected DCA to be a lot more quieter compared to DL but even that park is now pretty busy as well. And I think a lot of people are using PH to see as much as possible. I am really curious what is going to happen by June 15th because it does sound like they will be able to have the park at nearly full capacity again. It's really hard to say if it will be better or worse because I guess it will depend on the other factors like increasing capacity for the rides themselves, being able to eat indoors, etc. I would assume all that increases as well though.

Either way it doesn't really bother me. I've never cared if the parks are packed or not and expect them to be busy. Sure I would like it less crowded lol but it never bothered me if they were. You just have to form a game plan decide the stuff you really want to do and just get in line! Everybody has smart phones, it's pretty easy to pass the time away these days. I do hope the FPs will come back but I don't expect it to for the rest of the year at least.

What time did you look? I’ve been checking periodically today as well as just now and outside of POTC, GOTG And RSR they re all pretty decent and similar to the posted wait times before the yellow tier announcement. All of the the other Es are in the 20-45 min range. I’m hoping it stays like this this weekend.

I’m starting both of my days at DL so I’ll probably knock out POTC and HM one morning and Indy and Space another morning. The rest of the attractions wait times at DL don’t seem to get too bad except for Smugglers Run sometimes. Unfortunately l have no choice but to wait in a pretty long line for RSR and GOTG at DCA. As @SuddenStorm pointed out though you can ride Splash like 6 times in the amount of time it takes to get on RSR so the choice is clear. Sorry son. RSR isn’t going anywhere.

Hahah yeah It’ll be different for sure. I think what gets lost in all the planning is that we’ll finally be at Disneyland again, riding POTC and Splash, eating plaza inn fried chicken and pulling our masks down slightly under our nose on the rides.
Other than the necessary travel stuff, I haven't been planning at all. Everything is changing so rapidly, that I don't really see the point. I'll get more serious about it a few days before we go, but too much is changing right now. (As a hyper planner, that was a really weird couple of sentences for me to write!)

What I DO know is that we'll pack lunches, because I don't want to deal with mobile ordering food 4 hours in advance. Man, I really really hope they open some more dining locations.

I looked literally about 20 minutes before I made that post, so around 4:30ish. But if you're going two days and get there at opening I don't think you'll have much trouble.

I'm really glad I managed to get dining reservations when I did, especially considering I was unsure at the time if we'd use them. Yay to the Monte Cristo and refillable mint juleps! 😂

I'm planning on mobile ordering as soon as I enter the park in the morning; I've heard too many horror stories about folks having to wait hours for windows to open up. It might be trickier on my DCA day June 5 since I'm hoping to eat at Pym's, so we'll see.

"California is on track to fully reopen its economy on June 15 -- but what exactly will that look like? For the first time Friday, we heard details about exactly what restrictions are set to be lifted.

The first and biggest change is the removal of all capacity limits and physical distancing requirements, regardless of setting. That means bars, restaurants, concert venues, grocery stores and everything in between can open at full capacity -- if they so choose.

Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test won't be necessary to do anything, not even go to a sports game. However, the state is planning to keep some recommendations -- not requirements -- on these "mega events" in place:
  • At outdoor live events with more than 10,000 people, California will recommend venues have a verification of vaccination/negative test in place. Those who aren't vaccinated or who don't show a negative test result can still enter if they wear a mask.
  • Indoor venues with 5,000 or more people should implement a similar verification. However, at these indoor events, non-vaccinated people who don't show a negative COVID-19 test result shouldn't enter, the state recommends
When it comes to masking, California is planning to fully align with CDC guidance come June 15.

All of California's restrictions on travel outside the state will be lifted. Any travel restrictions down the line will be in alignment with the CDC, Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly said on a call with reporters Friday."

Have they said if masks are going away for outdoors after 6/15?
The state said they will be in alignment with CDC guidelines for mask wearing. So pretty much its going away. They dont know what CDC will say in a month but currently its gone for those vaccinated or non vaccinated outdoors. But its a self attest system in CA there will be no vaccination passport.

Nothing has been updated on the Disney website other then reservation availability

I would expect a blog post or something similar sometime in the next week.

Even though it would be nice to go when masks aren't required, I'd take 35% capacity and a mask over a much larger capacity and no mask.
