Disneyland officially reopening April 30th

I booked a hotel reservation just in case all the stars align and the park is opened for Oregonians, and we can get reservations for our five day tickets. Seems extremely unlikely but, oh well. The hotel reservation can be canceled up to 48 hours before for no charge, and the rate was good for a larger room.
This was my thought process, too. I guess I'll just pick a set of dates and hope for the best. 🤷‍♀️

With the state announcing today that vaccine will be available to everyone 16 and over on April 15, who the heck knows what is going to happen by this summer?!?!?!

Surely travel restrictions will end quite quickly since every state will be there by May 1, DL’s second day of operation.

>>Good news for those who’ve missed the sounds of the midway attractions, the smells of fried food and livestock and the incomparable people-watching of the OC Fair: Officials plan to open the gates for in-person fun this summer.

Fair board members voted Thursday, March 25, to hold a fair from July 16 to Aug. 15 with limited attendance and fewer rides, concessions and vendors, plus coronavirus safety protocols, at the Costa Mesa fairgrounds. All tickets will be sold in advance, with sales beginning May 1 at www.ocfair.com.<<

That's fabulous news! I was just talking about this with some friends last weekend, and we didn't know.

Things are changing quickly now all over California.

And did you hear the breaking news this afternoon?!? KFI news radio is announcing that Governor Newsom is reported to have had several affairs behind First Partner's back in recent years. Most of the women were highly paid lobbyists and/or political power brokers in Sacramento. And one of the women he's allegedly been having an affair with was recently promoted to a top political position in Sacramento by the Newsom administration.

This is breaking news and KFI says both the LA Times and Politico are digging into this quickly to get someone to talk on the record. It's currently an unfolding story changing by the hour. But it's that kind of typical political unprofessionalism that can undo an administration quickly.

Gross. Reason number 1,352 why I have no idea how anyone can get all riled up when others are critical of politicians.

Uh, gang?....

I've been busy with a re-landscaping project that took on a life of its own and tripled in size about a week ago, so pardon me if this has already been discussed as I've not been on the forum much lately, but....

Sacramento still hasn't released the new Guidance for how to operate a theme park in California after April 1st. It's now March 25th, one week until theme parks in California can reopen per Sacramento. But our bureaucratic betters up in Sacramento still haven't released any of the new rules and regulations yet.

The state websites all still direct you to the old Guidance from October 20th, 2020. If you are a theme park operator in California all you have to go on is a few brief bullet points released several weeks ago with promises to release the full Guidance "later" before the April 1st reopening date.

We still don't know what the rules are, or how they work, or what it means for epic 15 to 30 minute long indoor E Tickets like Pirates or Haunted Mansion or Star Wars: Rise Before Dawn.

This is the only information we have to go on two weeks after it was released on a PDF file by Sacramento...

Orange Tier Effective April 1, 2021:
• Max 25%
• Indoor capacity max 25% with time restrictions
• Weekly worker testing program
• With other modifications

• In-state visitors only, check for current CDPH Travel Advisory in effect

And then the link on the state website leads to this old information from October 20th, 2020...

>>We are looking forward to entertaining you again! Adventure City is reopening starting April 16th 2021. At this time, ticket sales will be limited only to those who reside in California per State Guidelines. In order to limit capacity, guests will need to purchase admission and make a reservation. We can’t wait to have you back for family fun!<<

Ironic that Adventure City will be the first Park to open in Orange County.

This is the moment that I found out that Newsom was once married to Kimberly Guilfoyle.

SAY WHAT?!

Good for them!

Non-Californians:
Adventure City is a very small but adorable little park on a couple acres several miles west of Disneyland. It has seven or eight rides that are mostly in the "kiddy ride" category, and it's target age is pre-school and kindergarten. It's been there forever, and is a little family owned business if memory serves.

I just didn't want non-locals to think this was a big deal that a "theme park" was reopening, but technically they are the first theme park to reopen in Orange County with rides. Perhaps the first in all of SoCal!?

Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier opens April 2nd.

Will be gated until we enter the green tier. Only option is individual ride coupons, which must be bought online in advance, and stating you are a California resident. But you can get in line as soon as you receive the baroda via e-mail.

You didn't know that?

I take it you don't have a subscription to Harper's Bazaar, where Gavin and Kimberly posed in the Getty mansion in San Francisco for this infamous photo shoot splashed across the magazine pages? (The Getty family and all their oil money have been longtime friends and patrons of Gavin Newsom; Gavin's entire working career and political journey for the past 20 years has been fueled by Getty Oil money)

You'll find emergency eye wash stations out in the hallways. You're welcome!

Ah, yes, Pacific Park. I always forget about them.

How does a non-gated boardwalk like Pacific Park suddenly become gated and meet the restrictions of having "reservations only" and only selling tickets to Californians? Sounds like that's a process that will be as effective as the statewide 10PM curfew. ;)

Don't you need to have a kid to go to Adventure City?
