Disneyland Hotel

Hello all. I've got a report here straight from me to you. Saturday night HH6 and I decided to hit the Disneyland Hotel for the night. We called and the cast member I spoke to said they had standard and deluxe rooms available for walk up. The standard running $300 a night and the deluxe at $345 and up. We headed up and got there right as the fireworks were going off.

We ended up with the deluxe "pool view" room in the dreams tower and headed up, excited to be staying here. We walked in our room and that's where the excitement ended. The decor was nice. A sketch of DL on the TV cabinet. Sleeping Beauty's castle on the headboard. But the room was small. I mean I've stayed at value resorts at WDW. I've stayed in my share of small places but this was really disappointing. The room was big enough for the double bed, the TV/fridge/clothes drawer and the desk. I don't know how big some of the other rooms were but if this is what Disneyland Hotel has your better off staying across the street.

Now I also admit that I haven't had the pleasure of staying at Grand Californian or Paradise Pier, but from what I've heard the only bright spot is the Grand Californian.

Also, let me state this isn't me saying how disappointed I was with the trip/room. I live in ORange County, we went to DL Hotel just to do something we hadn't done before. We did and now we know what to expect.

Just letting you all know!

I'm sorry to hear that you were a bit disappointed with your room.

I just have a clarification question for you, did you room just have one double bed or did it have two? I'm just wondering if some of the rooms only have one small bed. We ended up having two double beds and a tiny couch in each of our rooms. But we did feel the space constraints compared to normally staying in a villa.

The Grand Californian was very nice, overall though during our stay we decided that we were not really paying for quality as much as location. You are litterally 300 yards away from the main gates to DL and have your own entrance to DCA so when you get soaked on GRR your room is only a few minutes away to go change.:)

View didn't do anything for me. Overpriced is definitely the word to use. I just don't get the difference in price between DLR and WDW. Next time I'll try Grand Californian.

Yep, my first thought when you called was: Why didn't you stay at GC??? Then second was: Was it 2 double beds??? because I could see how two beds could close in a room. But just one! Wow! Now THAT is small. LOL! It just ain't the Poly, is it??? Poor thing! Just keeping looking forward!

Love ya! :animwink:
