Just saw this tidbit from @AUPr8Hd

I've heard Disneyland isn't posted because there's a minor change to the course due to construction heading towards Angels stadium.

If true, wonder where the detour is or the construction. Here's the 2012 course map for reference.

Oh boo, you go through the parks right at the beginning? I need that pep toward the end...hopefully Angel Stadium will give me enough to slingshot me through miles 10, 11 and 12. Ohhh bother. ;)

Miles 4-8 are boring scenery-wise but there is some decent entertainment on the way to The Big A. I wanted to stop at the car clubs. Running through the stadium is a lot of fun and gets you pumped up. There was a good crowd last year cheering us on. You get another lift once you cross the freeway and hit the DLR area.

Last year I ran the Tower 10 miler - my first-ever runDisney race - and some of the WDW Magicers decided to do a pre-race meet and greet. For those of you who have ran the Disneyland Half in previous years, and if the corrals and bag drop off will be somewhat similar, where do you think there would be a good pre-race WDW Magic meet-up? Better yet, who would be interested in a pre-race meet up before going into your assigned corrals?

Much like with WDW clearing the MK first anytime a course goes through there, I don't think the paths in most of DL can handle runners, plus a walkway for normal guests. They really have no choice but to make sure that all the runners are out of the park before it opens. However, they do get a ton of cheerleaders and other local groups out on course to cheer you on. May not be Disney entertainment like WDW has, but they do try. As @Texas84 said, the car clubs put on like a mile long classic car show along the course.

Ive found that DLR puts more 'entertainment' overall on the course than WDW and there are a LOT more spectators sprinkled around almost constantly than any WDW races- I like seeing the bands/cheerleaders/local restaurants dancers and the car club is always fun-

I prefer running though the 'warehouse district' more than osceloa parkway any day :)

So, Joey Fatone of N' Sync will be trying to complete his coast-to-coast challenge in taking on the Dumbo Double Dare during the Disneyland Half. Wonder what other celebrities will run with us. I find it cool that Drew Carey of The Drew Carey Show and Price is Right, also ran the Disneyland Half.

All the more motivation for you Melissa @melflip8 !

Now that I think about it, you're right about the spectators. There was a lot more support at DLR. Maybe it's easier to find a parking spot in Anaheim.

That would be great. I missed the ToT meet up (couldn't find it - my fault) but did get to meet a few of us at Marathon. That was fun. Not sure about a meeting spot. Maybe somewhere in Downtown closer to the DL hotels?

I have not seen the pre-race map of the corrals. What does it look like and where exactly could we walk a short distance to get away from the hustle and bustle for some quiet stretching time and meet-and-greet? How about a 60- or 90-minute window for the meet up? According to sponsor Clif Bar, they had a pre-race course preview and the location of the corrals is near the Lilo Parking Lot in Downtown Disney, adjacent to the three on-property hotels.

Btw, here's the 2012 course preview courtesy of Clif Bar. Nice read. Getting ready. ... http://www.clifbar.com/blog/detail/disneyland_half_marathon_clif_bar_pace_team_course_preview/

Last year the corrals lined up north of the DL Hotel on Disneyland Drive. I'm thinking the Downtown area or the hotel area would have lots of good landmarks. Everyone in Harbor hotels or shuttles have to walk through Downtown and there was even at least one shop open serving baked goods and coffee. I saw a few groups hanging out in Downtown. I might have the 2012 corral map at home. I'll check tonight.

I probably should have said I'd heard a rumor there was a change :D I guess time will tell on this one since there is STILL not a course posted.

Another good landmark, for a meet up, is the sorcerer's hat @ Disneyland Hotel.

Sorcerer's Hat at the Disneyland Hotel is what I was thinking. Last Time I was in Anaheim was October 2010 and I remember walking around the Disneyland Hotel, which was under major refurbishment.

Are his results really in his wife's name still for the Goofy? I would assume if he gets coast to coast he'd have to right? They made such a big deal about him running it seems weird that they didn't just go ahead and adjust his information (even though I know it's against disney rules to transfer but so is running in someone's place soo...).

Waivers are (unofficially) out!

http://www.trackshack.com/disneysports/dlwaiver13/verify.php

Seems- 1/2 #s are 0-19999, Dumbo are 20,000 and 10K are 30,000

Personally have #22142 which is rumored to be C Corral which is where I was last year- Happy with that :)

I'm only running the half marathon, and my number is 1704, which I can only assume is that the numbers are alphabetized via last name, and my last name begins with the letter A. Or, I told Disney I finished my first-ever half marathon in 2:22.57, which could place me in A corral or B corral.

Who knows exactly but all I know is that I have a bib number!

So, @-em and @Katherine, are you running the Dumbo Double Dare?
