All I'm trying to say is I don't think it's coming back, or if so I think its bigger than just replacing the dragon - as in a full re-imagining to the level of Fantasmic 3.0

I have thought a full show refresh since the moment I saw the show stop back in April. If you look back at my earlier posts on the thread you'll see that.
Mostly, I was trying to bring attention back to the idea of a full refresh so we could discuss what you'd want or expect in a Fantasmic 3.0
Look at the pace they work in WDW........
When should we expect to hear something about F! next Spring, Dragon or not?

It’s possible. And it was definitely possible to get the show back up and running by now without the dragon.
It’s a budget decision, just like the delays to bring back the railroad signals

Personally I don't want Fantasmic without the dragon. I'd rather not have a show missing it's final climax. It's the grand finale.
I've seen one or two showings where the dragon didn't come out and was only on a screen and IMO it wasn't worth watching.

This just goes back to the decision of them ditching the Malificient on a lift as a B-mode for an inferior projection a real head-scratcher.
The one B-mode they didn't need to touch with the F! 2.0 refresh, yet they did..
Hopefully they work it back in for this incoming 2.5 or 3.0 refresh, whatever it will be.

Seven months probably is enough time to build a new dragon animatronic. Seven months is not enough time to come together for a plan (multiple times, mind you) have discussions, go back and forth on said discussions, establish a budget, create concept art, agree to the new plan, and fully execute and debut said new plan, new dragon animatronic and all.
Disneyland was built in a year, but there was plenty of prep and planning time before that. That all needs to be considered. And let’s be honest, the opening of Disneyland was rushed.

I don’t think we’ll know if 7 months is enough time until we see the finished product.
The dragon wasn’t that old so there should still be blueprints and everything needed to quickly remake it, for a simple rebuild 7 months should be more than enough time.
If they are redesigning the dragon and making something different it’s nowhere near enough time. I’m leaning towards this scenario, as long as they have to spend the money it makes sense to make changes and update it also, time will tell.
Sadly, I'd guess that Disney has far...FAR larger problems to worry about than getting "Murphy" rebuilt. Burbank is in the middle of a Boardroom hurricane right now and they are scrambling to figure out how they will finance their HULU purchase. Do they burn every dollar they have left in cash? Do they pay Universal in stock? Do they take on another high interest loan and get deeper in debt?
Right now Josh and Bob don't want to hear anybody ask them about that dragon...and i'd bet nobody has the gutts to ask them right now. Lol (kidding)
Let's see how good or bad tomorrow's end of fiscal year earning's call goes. I dont see Disney making ANY spending plans untill AFTER the HULU deal is fully done and Disney can assess their financial damage.
Let's be honest. Murphy blew a hydrolic seal that shot ignited oil all over it and burned down. Disney was not spending the money to maintain "Murphy" and THAT is why it died. How long was "Murphy" blinking with only one eye? Disney didnt even try to fix the bad one?
If they didnt spend the money to maintain it...will they be in a hurry to spend more money to rebuild it? And..."Fantasmic" is a VERY expensive show to operate every night anyway....even in "B" mode without a dragon.

Also, seeing as Disney doesn’t really do AAs in house these days, they’d likely need lots of time to design and engineer something, potentially in consultation with Garner Holt or a similar company, and then of course contract it out to them to build, which who knows their timeline, especially if they are currently working on dozens of new AA’s for Tiana’s.
