Disneyland Fantasmic Dragon Engulfed in Flames

Perhaps this isn't the right thread, but relevant: watching a livestream of the first Halloween Screams, and the flame effects have been replaced by a new simulated flame fog effect. It doesn't look nearly as impressive, though it does look somewhat realistic, at least on video... but in more of a "the castle is on fire" way, and not the impressive 50 foot flames of before. And of course feeling the heat in person was part of the experience.
I really hope this doesn't mean flame effects are gone for good at DLR. But I'm starting to lose hope of them ever coming back.

Fire effects have finally returned to "World of Color – One" tonight (9/10) since late April after the F! fire incident.

Edit: looks like the fire effects actually returned the day before on the 9th instead of the 10th.

Speculation here, but I suspect it has something to do with proximity to the crowd.

So has it been confirmed that the dragon won’t be returning at all? I know they plan to run the show without her in the immediate future, but is that the permanent plan?

No. It does sound like a dragon on the scale of Murphy will not be returning immediately, but at no point has Disney said it won't eventually come back.
There have, however, been a number of people who have jumped to this conclusion due to their pessimism towards/distrust of Disney in general as of late.

I saw it on Friday and the dragon didnt light on fire but the actor improved by saying "Oh F** me! Its supposed to light on fire!"
They also made a light jab at World of Color
The hangman also makes a joke saying "That dragon went down faster than the Galactic Starcruiser"
So they went for the hockey hat trick with Disney XD

definitely concerning to me that no concept art, no announcements about the changes to the show have been made. It almost seems like disney themselves don't know

Well they do spotlight the dragon on Behind the Attraction. Of course they also spotlight Harmonious as a big new thing.

To be fair, you have to give a large corporation time to deal with an unexpected issue that was not budgeted for.
Maybe they're hoping they can come up with a new dragon figure.
