Disneyland 70th Anniversary Thread - Wishlist, Rumors, Speculation, Announcements

I guess its not much, but "The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade" kind of counts as an anniversary parade to me with PtN backing it up as the nighttime parade I think that is a good lineup.

But maybe the 75th will have its own dedicated huge anniversary parade being a more major anniversary.
The 75th will probably be the bigger deal with the best stuff being saved for that. And I say that as someone who loves the stuff for the 70th so far.

Hmm…

I am not a fan of the 70th outfits for the characters, or much as far as graphics and logos for the anniversary thus far.
This is just the very beginning, and I’m sure a lot more visuals will be forthcoming.

So far I am not really digging the ‘Technicolor’ overlay.
But your mileage may well vary.
I’m sure some and liking the bright splashes of color.

When I think of anniversary events at the Parks though, I think of slightly classier looks.
More ‘formal’, less ‘fun colors’…but to each their own.

Yeah, I'm not really liking the 70th outfits for the characters either. It all seems too aggressively colorful and casual, like the designer wanted the clothes to stand out more than the actual character wearing them.

I especially dislike the shoes for both Mickey and Minnie; those just look... weird.

A great way of saying it, and I agree.

The colorful clothing is just too ‘loud’ and ‘busy’ visually.
Distracts a little from the look of the characters in my opinion.

Speaking of shoes, why does Daisy wear them but not Donald?

Anyone else think this celebration is pretty sad? The big deal is the parade that was part of a celebration from 10 years ago?

Yup.

I keep trying to count up what they are doing for the 70th, and the only new things I can think of are the Walt Disney animatronic and a decor-n-bunting package for the Castle and ticket booths.

This seems like a rather wimpy and skimpy anniversary, compared to the 60th, 45th and 40th.

Meanwhile, in beautiful downtown Burbank... they just vaporized $200 Million in cash with their latest Snow White flop.

Don't forget, WOC: Happiness.....which prob won't have 1 note of WOC's Original Theme Song in it.........

DL isn't even trying to restore F!. it took DLR 7 years to use PTN again............

The "new Snow White" better NOT effect any 2025 Plan on Both Coasts!!!!!!!!!!

Here's an update on the 70th Anniversary theme song "Celebrate Happy":

Created in honor of the anniversary, an upbeat new theme song “Celebrate Happy” will be heard throughout the celebration across various entertainment experiences. We’re thrilled to share that this catchy new tune will be performed by none other than the Jonas Brothers! The song “Celebrate Happy” will be available to stream beginning May 13, wherever you listen to music.

Here's a clip from JONASCON 2025 that should start at a preview of the song:

Sad to think how 10 years ago we got a brand new night parade, world of color (even if it wasn't good) and they completely upgraded Matterhorn, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan. It really did feel like a large scale celebration.

Forgot about the Walt animatronic show entirely. Wonder if we will also get interesting merchandise, my guess is not. Seems Disney has really downgraded their offerings and guest expectations in the last decade.

I genuinely think they are planning for a bigger 75th anniversary, but don't usually allocate budget for two huge celebrations in a decade, so they are going a little light on this one.
I don't believe entertainment or ops are budgeted this far ahead of time but maybe someone with knowledge on that subject can chime in. In 5 years we will have cycled through 3 more Disneyland presidents and likely 2 more Parks heads and a new CEO, who knows what will happen then.

They have updated Haunted Mansion ready for the 70th and are refurbing/updating Small World now (with the new verse and new Miguel doll). We'll also see how good the Toy Story Mania update is
