They don't ship outside of Canada or America.

Is there any other way to view them? I am from Australia and this will be my first ever Disney trip. Are they online anywhere or in torrents.

This is disappointing. I would have even been willing to have paid shipping costs to Australia :(

For the record I have to say that the majority of Planning videos from 2007 to now are absolutely TERRIBLE! Ever since they went the DisneyParks route they made their video's like it's something you'd see as a 4am paid tv advertisement wanting you to throw money at the screen and nothing happens..It's very uncomfortable to watch...So with that...*Sigh* Here's all of them in 9 pieces I found....You won't be too happy...

The rest is here!

NOW! If you want to see a Really good one to watch..I STRONGLY Recommend this one..Which is the Vacation planner of 2005/2006 for the Happiest Celebration on Earth..While some attractions and prices are Different...This one gets you excited to come to Walt Disney World and it's still the one I watch the most!

You can still get them in the UK I believe. I have a ton of them. They are pretty terrible though and I'm sure they are exactly the same as the US ones as it also contains DLR, DCL and DVC planning with pricing in $ rather than £. The 2005 one I have which was made for the UK with British presenters is really good though.

I totally agree. This is the last really good one they did. Even though I could not stand the teenage boy character at the time, Ive grown to appreciate him more since the current videos are nothing but a poorly thought out infomercial.....

I may be wrong, but isn't there a difference in US and Australian (and European) DVD standards that would not allow a US DVD to play properly outside the country (zone)?

(I used to work in international distribution of television programs and spent a fortune converting the programs from US NTSC (525 lines of resolution) to Europe/Asia PAL (625 lines of resolution). It has been almost eleven years since I did that work, so maybe things have changed????

I have to agree. I loved this one. The DVDs since must have been made by the BORG. "You must go to WDW to be assimilated!" I loved Dave's Bench Brigade and yes, the "teen-ager" was annoying after a while.

"It's what a I like to call a triple mountain trifecta boys and girls!"

Yeah, the HCOE was the last good one they did. They've now just become an afterthought.

My son and I still watch the HCOE DVD from time to time. Dave and Co. were the best. My some does like the slacker/surfer/gamer "dude" either and he is a teenager one of the ones, Luke I believe, is targeting.

We don't get them any more in the uk either, the last few we're not very good though but I would still get them. All we get now is a little book with park maps and things to do listed, little book of magic I think it's called. I've tried to see if I could order planning DVDs for Disneyland and other Disney parks but they don't ship outside of the us, which sucks a bit.

To further confuse things, besides the NTSC/PAL video conversion format standards question, isn't there also a Region limitation on DVDs?

Yes :) Each zone has a different region code and resolution which will render the DVD unplayable unless they have a region free DVD player.

USA: Region 1/NTSC
Europe: Region 2/PAL
Australia: Region 4/PAL
Japan: Region 2/NTSC

etc

The last 3 UK Disney World Planning DVDs includes a long Disneyland Resort video guide as well as for DCL and featurettes about the global Disney parks and what they are celebrating eg Disneyland Paris's 20th Anniversary :)

Just copy the original disc and remove the region code then send the copy. And yes the VPG with Erin and the gang was the last one worth watching. I love it and have watched it many times.

But a DVD does not have to have a region. I don't know if the planning DVD's do or not. NTSC v. PAL is meaningful, region is just a stupid little number.

No it doesn't have to have one but most DVDs do. I'm not sure what region the Planning DVDs are, I'll have to take a look by putting my UK one in my US player :)

Region isn't just a silly number, If I bought a DVD from the US and brought it back to the UK it will not work. It will only work in multiregion players which are expensive and somewhat hard to find or a player imported from that region and even then the resolution will be a problem on a non plasma/LCD tv.

Most Region Free or Region 0 DVDs are fakes bootlegged in China.
