Disney World smell

This is probably the third time I've posted this in 3 years, but...

... the thing that reminds me most of my last Disney vacation is the new deodorant I tried on my trip! I remember one day remarking how this great fragrance seemed to be follwing me everywhere -- I seriously thought they must be pumping a smell through some ventilation system throughout MK!

It wasn't until that evening that I realized the smell was me!

I *highly* recommend trying a new cologne or deodorant at WDW. You will come to associate it with Disney! To this day, I put that deodorant on and it instantly transports me back...

No lie!

I'm sure alot of the disney nuts like me already knew this, but for any others:

Did you know that many of thoes tantilizing smells of candy and popcorn are mostly for show? The imagineers developed a "smellitzer" machine, which they use often to catch a persons interest, inticing them to the candy store, popcorn cart, or other food stands/stores. As well as enhancing food's appeal, it's used in many rides, including SSE (yay burning rome!), 3d shows (Mmm... stink bug...), and others.

I smelled Disney all day today at work. I can't imagine what was giving off that smell. I work in a scene shop for a theatre (wood scents), yet I kept smelling something very Disney. Maybe it was the tour of The Lion King next door in the concert hall. It is wednesday, their day for repairs, etc.

Getting into the monorail...now that's one smell to me that sticks out. Surprised no one mentioned it. It kinda smells like a zoo to me.

For the family and I many smells around the home trigger a memories, on just the right morning you go outside and there's a scent of morning dew with the gardens, in NJ one of the supermarkets, shoprite super center has this entrance that when we walk in it smells just like the land when you just walk in, we don't have any certain favorite smell, having gone to WDW at least 11 times just about anything sets off the memories, and I really don't need a favorite smell just so long as it give's me something to think back and say how much I miss WDW. :)

I know EXACTLY what you mean!! I go to Ohio State and i swear to God my one lecture hall smells EXACTLY like Universe of Energy!! And my Chemistry lecture hall smells a lot like Soarin (the famous "new ride" smell).

More like a cat litter box, pretty much one of 2 smells that I can do without. But still it's a memory that still makes us miss that place.

Ive thought about this often. Im suprised no one has mentioned the smell of BBQ, or simply charcoal burning, wood burning or cooking on a grill. When i smell that (not all up in my face), but from a distance, it reminds me of disney.

Ok, the weirdest thing about my Disney obsession is the "Disney Word smell." My brother and I often smell things and we are like "Smells like Dinsey World!" The smell I am describing is probably the watery, damp smell of rides like Pirates, Splash, and Small World. But both my brother and I know it. I have this speicla sulfur wash I wash my face with now and it totally smells like Dinsey. I love using it. Anyway, are we freaks or does anyone else know what I am talking about?? Ha ha.
No, you're not alone, I swim, and at an away meet last year, the pool smelled exactly like pirates, small world, etc. It made me happy. :P

That's cool, that means that Disney acknowledges the fact that there is a Disney Smell and is packaging it and sending it on the road with the touring companies to lure in the loyal fan base !

It won't be long now before it's available to the general public !! :D

I've done this! We leave in 9 days (yes 9 days!!!!!) and I have already packed a few products that I have never used before, knowing that when I use them again at home they will immediately take me back to WDW. I look forward to it! (If someone who does not share our passion for WDW were to read this they would definitely think we should be locked away somewhere.)

I read a recent article which reported that that "new car smell" we all know and love is mostly produced by toxic chemicals used in the production of the vehicle.

I think we can assume the same thing about those smells we love at WDW!

I love the smell of the water. It doesn't mater what ride, IASW & POTC I love the smell of the water.

After a 10 month stay in central <st1:state w:st="on"><st1 ="">Florida</st1></st1:state> for a business project I think I figured out just exactly what that smell is: Chloramine. Most water departments use chlorine to sterilize city water, but in most of <st1:state w:st="on"><st1 ="">Florida</st1></st1:state> they use chloramine and it has a very distinctive smell. It's a great smell for Splash, PoTC and the rest for invoking those happy memories, but when it's your tap water...yuck!

Plus I have to agree with what I saw posted above, <st1:state w:st="on"><st1 ="">Florida</st1></st1:state> has it's very own outdoor scent.
