So i am planning a trip to go to wdw for early dec 12, and i was just wondering what are some rides that look better at night and rides that are just better at night. I know that when all the lights are on by space mountain it just looks incredible. So what are your thoughts on this?

Big Thunder Mountain is a million times better at night! Also Astro Orbiter is great at night with all the lights on in the MK.

all the above including

Astro Orbiter
also
Space Mountain and Pirates (even though they're inside, knowing that it's night outside gives the ride a different feel when you're on it. I frankly like riding them better at night.:D)

If the opportunity arises, best ride at night hands down, is Expedition Everest!
It's just brilliant at night:wave:

I agree with the rides mentioned, but allow me to offer a non-ride option. Standing at the top of the central area of the castle between the staircases, looking out toward the lights of Main Street, is a nocturnal treat.

Ditto op will also be going and Christmas time so that is like a super bonus. Crisp fall/winter air + Christmas decor= pure magic. Walking around World showcase used to be magical like this when the Lights of winter was there.

All dark rides you can see a little more in at night. Both a good and bad thing.

Echo thoughts about Thunder. Makes it seem faster at night...kinda like the speed that it should be.

Also like the Peoplemover at night.

If they're offering evening EMH at AK, you can catch Expedition Everest at twilight, early evening. Even the Tree of Life takes on a grander feel looking at it from the bridge between Everest and Finding Nemo: The Musical as the sun sets behind it and the accent lights below the tree come on.

All the great dark rides should be experienced at night. Your eyes will be better adjusted to the darkness as opposed to transitioning from blinding Florida sun. Your sight will be improved on stuff like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.

These are all great suggestions Thanks everyone, i would love to keep hearing more suggestions, even areas that are amazing at night as well when everything is all lit up, also i have never been there during Christmas time so areas that look incredible during that time i would love to hear about, as of right now i will be there at night for at least magic kingdom and Hollywood studios, and possibly Epcot just depends on what day we are leaving. thanks to everyone for the advice so far.

Jungle Cruise - more atmosphere, slighty more adult humor :animwink:
Haunted Mansion - adds to the spooks
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - seems faster
Astro Orbitor - ditto
Tower of Terror - great view plus scarier
