So the girlfriend waited over an hour and was able to sign up for the challenge, on a lark I just logged in and signed up for the 5K and waited 7 minutes. She is a little bent right now.

That was a completely fine registration. Always annoying to sit in a queue but at least the site didn't crash going from queue to checkout.
Passholder: Tervis cup, pin, maybe magnet, but no t-shirt.
Commemorative: sneaker ornament, pin and maybe magnet
Challenge runner: pins and magnet.
But no 9 pin option for the Challenge, nor race weekend jacket.
First to go, I gather?

I tried getting in on phone #1 on the half marathon link when the challenge wasn’t live, then phone #2 when the challenge link popped up. Phone #2 got through the queue about 10:25 when the first one was still showing 20+ minute wait.
But I’m in and signed up for all three races! Looking forward to seeing some of y’all there!!
I don’t think I’m doing any advance merch, I’d usually do a magic band or the cheapest Tervis option to be able to use the pick up line rather than the massive regular line at the Expo to shop, but can’t convince myself that the extra money is worth it since I’m not all that into pins and magnets. I wish they had their regular selection!

Me too. But I'm not surprised there's no Magicband as they will be going the way of the dodo. I plan on wearing my elitist Magicband, lol.

Yeah, I kind of figured that might be the case on the bands. I wish they still did the passholder pin and tervis option. I always get a tumbler and I could justify paying for the pin in order get to the merch area through the pick up line rather than the massive regular one; but paying for both a pin and magnet for my shopping “fastpass” was a little more than I could convince myself to do (for now anywayMe too. I've always just gone to get my bibs and whatnot whenever I got a chance to get over to WWoS. What's with the chaos on the 1st day of the expo? worth it? I'm local now and only about a 25 minute drive from WWoS. Worth taking the day off work or no?

Hi bestie...If only you knew someone who had special access to the merchandise first day of the Expo....
First race back on property with the coveted sneaker ornaments and Tervis mug? A zoo.
If there's anything you want, I'd pre-order. And I assume the first hour Expo opens will be madness. I always like to stop at the Arena first to pick up my pre-orders and anything else I want. Especially when bib pickup is in the same building, which it has been for W&D in the past.

How early do people start lining up for the chaos? I don't think there's anything I want THAT badly except maybe pins.
As soon as buses from the resorts start running, which is about 30 minutes before the Expo opens? I always got there around 11 AM

So crazy, right? It’s great that the servers held out, for the most part, and everything went smoothly. But honestly I’m really surprised only one distance is sold out. Is everyone holding out for “the main event” (Marathon Weekend), since W&D is fairly close-in and room availability is already strained? Or was all that pent-up demand on social media just talk?

Sadly going to have to pass on wine and dine. Debated finding coverage for the child and dogs but just not that into this theme. I’ll be at marathon weekend though, bummed they don’t have a 10k/half challenge.
