Very glad I didn't take any chances! I was online right at the time it opened just in case... with flights booked already from Ireland I had to be sure!

Now to sign up for a 10K...!

For those of you that haven't already got your time yet to submit did you still enter your estimated finish time? So I put ours in at 2hrs but marked the proof thing as N/A and will then submit it once I've run the race.

I listed my estimated finish at 10 min. less than my proof of time. I thought that was reasonable. Hopefully they are looking at both for large discrepancies and err on the side of proof. What does everyone else submit?

If you did not provide proof of time at time of registration, you are able to submit before August 1 to disneysports@trackshack.com
I also registered for 2 hrs. I've always ran a sub 2 half, but figure with pics/stops I will be over for this one.

Proof is required under 3:15. So if you don't have proof you'll be in the back. Get those times in to TrackShack or you'll be disappointed. This happened at the Princess.

I submitted a 2:10 I ran back in January and I have 2-3 10K coming up but probably won't bother submitting those. Brandi is going to be around 2:30 and I'm going to run with her so I'll drop back.

Sounds like a big group for a meet-up. But we have time to think about it. :)

Just for clarification, I was curious about the time difference between what people enter for estimated finish and proof of time. i.e. 10 min. slower than proof, 15 min. faster than proof. :)

I submitted the same time I sent to them last year - 1:37 for a 10-miler. They put me in Corral E, which was the "<2:15 corral" so I think I put 2:15 in for this year. I'm hoping to submit a faster time later this year.

My proof of time was 1:44. I put my expected finish time at 1:40 because that is my goal and I really want to shoot for it.

So I go a little lower b/c I always want to improve.

I used a 1:50 proof of time and estimated 1:45. That's a very optimistic estimate for me, since I've been landing in the 2:02-2:05 range ever since my 1:50 race, but who knows what could happen between now and November

well since i think most people's estimates and proof are very similar (within 5-15 min) it usually doesnt 'trip a corral change' and if its borderline it prob would depend on how many other people put similar times (as 17,000-25,000+ people would have *some* overlapping times) so you could end up numerically in the 'back' of one corral or the 'front' of another.. Before the overall to the corral changes I know with the same proof of time (2:49) and same estimate (2:45) my corrals were e/d/c/b/c/b/e/c/c for my 2011-2013 disney races (I have my 'bib book' sitting near me- didnt memorize anything... For both my 2014 I've been in I with a 2:50 estimate and 2:59 proof of time (since my PR 'expired') but for wine and dine I went back to a 2:45 with a 2:53 proof (have 2 more races this spring to hopefully knock that down to 2:50ish!)

I think its not an absolute science as one never knows how a race day will actually transpire with injury/illness/course conditions..

Thanks for all the replies, so which one actually decides your coral then? Your estimate or your proof?

Ehh, they should be fairly close. It should be more off the estimate. Since the times need to be submitted a few months before the race, it's entirely possible to shave a few minutes off your previous PR (or PR within the accepted dates). So estimating a 1:55, and submitting a 1:58 from 9 months prior should be fine. But estimating a 1:45 and submitting a 2:15 from a month before might throw up some flags. If you only proof is way off from what you are estimating, then you should do another race for your own sake. Being able to d a pace in training and hitting that pace in a race environment are 2 different things.

Thanks again. Looking into 10k races over here in Ireland at the moment.

I'm ridiculously excited about this run as well as the trip, we're currently trying to put our plan together so we're ready for our 180 day window at the end of April (we arrive 26th October). What ADR's would you make for the day of the run? I've never participated in a night time run before nevermind one on Disney property! :hungry:

Under a certain time requires proof. They are checking. You see the proof cut-off in registration.

If your estimate is above the proof line then they will try to use your estimate. But then they also limit the numbers in each corral so it's still possible to get pushed back.

Personally, I would not make an ADR the day of the race. I know friends who ate big before a night race and had, um, issues. :D A lunch ADR might be OK if it's not too fancy. Then something light for dinner.

I eat around six. My good luck meal for Tower races and W&D races is a whole pizza from Picabu at Dolphin. I walk over, order it, and bring it back to my room and devour it on the balcony as the sun goes down.

Wow! Thank goodness I registered before I left for vacation instead of waiting till I got back. I can't believe it sold out so fast!

Oh that sounds nice! We were thinking a pizza from Via Napoli or something along those lines. We will have the dining plan hence wanting to have a ADR and a sit down meal. We also considered a big lunch instead. Typical for me that I'm thinking about the food already lol
