I do remember some making fun of Club runDisney. You're looking like a genius right now.And y'all called me crazy when I said W&D would be in person.

Good call!Submit a 10K.

Ugh! Just checked my 10kās, all my past ones were pretty much pre-covid when I was still getting into running and/or stuck zig-zagging through Disney or Universal, so nothing under 1:00 even. I have 52-55 minute splits in a couple of halfs, but that helps about as much as my 25 minute 5k (not at all). Something tells me the Peachtree this weekend will not be one of my more stellar times (I donāt hold up well in the heat), but who knows, maybe Iāll get lucky and thereāll be some cool rain Saturday to allow me a chance at a decent time!I forgot about that.
Peachtree is too hilly. But I think they reversed it so that bad uphill is now downhill. Yep, might get rain this weekend.Ugh! I feel seen. I'm not a walker by any means but the higher corral I can squeeze into the better for me since I like to stop and take photos.Dang! I got mine down to like 2:05:00 recently and was hoping that would avoid me being in the sea of self-estimated walkers that report low to build in a buffer from getting swept, I donāt see myself flirting with anything sub-2:00:00 until it cools down, at which point it will be too late to update registration.
My starts have been "C" group starts with one "B" group start and I have always been startled to see so many strait-up walkers in the first mile. In one race there was a clog (moving road block) of, what seemed like a platoon, of walkers in the middle of the road just past the one mile marker. How the hell do so many walkers get A, B, or C bibs? What happened to enforcing the timing standards? In addition too many of the slow poke's don't follow the running courtesies of staying to the right of the road allowing the faster runners to pass on the left but rather meander mindlessly back and forth headless of others (the whoo hoo it's all about me thing). For me the field sorts itself out pretty well after about a third of the distance is done and the longer the distance of the race the better. I enjoy the races very much or I would not keep doing them its just irritating that the start seems to be a challenge of picking ones way through an obstacle course of moving roadblocks (walkers) until a point is reached where a steady pace can be achieved and the run enjoyed.I feel seen. I THINK I'm in for this one (if I get a registration). The after party is what always "sells" me on this weekend. I'm not a fan of the regurgitated villains but whatever.
Iāve run the 5kās almost entirely in grass before for the very same reason, couldnāt get around the ā8 minute mile estimatorsā any other way. But, Iām not competing to win, so doesnāt get to me too bad, but sure would be nice if they went over the āwalkers on the rightā rule a few extra times like @LAKid53 suggested! My starts have been "C" group starts with one "B" group start and I have always been startled to see so many strait-up walkers in the first mile. With the amount of FAQ's rD has before the registration, I'm surprised by the lack of information they provide on races and race day. I get almost weekly emails from some races on information or training things, thou my DH did read his runner info and noted the arm raising and moving to the side - I didn't reading that, but knew it from other races.Along with "if you're walking, no more than 2 abreast". Nothing like 5, 6 people out on a leisurely stroll on the path from DHS to the Boardwalk...
I wish runDisney would include a runner's etiquette sheet with your bib. Not just "walkers to the right and no more than 2 abreast", but raising your hand when you stop running and saying "on your left/right" if you're going to closely pass someone. And "excuse me" and "I'm sorry" when appropriate. I've had people push me out of the way and step on the back of my shoe.
Like I said, the next kid that tries to run me over may find himself face first on the pavement. I've seen several of them nearly cause an older runner to fall.
I sure hope youāre right. I may be a pessimist, but my guess is that they are doing limited participation for the W&D and are going to just A,B, and C corrals (or something similar) like theyāve done for 5kās in the past. Thatās the only thing that seems to make sense to me, that they figure they can fill up the first corral with serious runners and (theoretically) fill a second with joggers and a third with walkers, which would be a free for all with self estimated times in the last two corrals. With the amount of FAQ's rD has before the registration, I'm surprised by the lack of information they provide on races and race day. Do we think the 2hr POT is gonna cause more of a head-ache for bottle-necks? I'm thinking it won't.
I think if you ran a rD race before they may take that into account and go off of those runs too, along with a POT if you have a better/newer time.
They should place people new to rD without a POT in the back, figuring that they most likely are newer runners without any race experience (some races do this, to keep from walkers slowing other runners down).

And that's why there is a virtual option that opens for reg. a week after the live opens. Those will be very large corrals, needing more waves than typical. I'd see A, B, C and D for the 10K and A....E for the Half.
I really think they will limit bibs, especially for the W&D.
Definitely was hilly! Finished in about 1:01:00, shouldāve probably busted it harder on the first half that was mostly downhill, as I was not prepared enough for all the uphill sections in the last three miles to keep a fast enough pace to help me for the Disney half corrals.Peachtree is too hilly. Iām actually running it again tomorrow, but using my friendās dadās bib (he doesnāt run anymore, so they tend to get one in his name since theyāve been doing it for almost 50 years and like to have an extra in case a friend or guest wants to run at the last minute), so Iāll at least know what could have been, haha. Cāest la vie!
agree with all of this 100%. The highest corral I've ever been placed in (for the half) is E I think? My starts have been "C" group starts with one "B" group start and I have always been startled to see so many strait-up walkers in the first mile.
