Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

So the course is missing a little HS (Hollywood Blvd) and Epcot (FW), but looks longer in AK (if I remember correctly, I don't think Asia was included last year).

It is. Checked the map for 2018. Section inside HS and Epcot are (way) smaller so the extra bit in AK is nice, but not enough.

Overall, all of the races lack decent milage inside the park, for me. Might be spoiled with DLP races and lightly biased.

10K race is the worst. Double the distance and the same milage inside the park as the 5K

Probably not new news to anybody, but USATF doesn’t have the new maps up yet, I assume they are submitted officially a few days before the race weekends and rubber stamped even though they appear to mostly be measured (historically) for all four race weekends in September (looks like that’s what they did in the past based on the submission data). Obviously with the construction they’ll have to have new certified courses for pretty much everything this year.

The event doesn't show the staging area this time. And the race starts on Epcot Center Drive, instead of the parking lot, as every Epcot 5k I've run the past 6 years has.

If you're running the Challenge, that's the corral assignment for the Half only. You'll find out your corral assignment for the 10K when you pick up your bib at the Expo.

Yeah thats the big change this year. If you look at the finish staging for the 10K and the half we are finishing differently too. This is all likely due to construction.

I guess the positive to being in the back corrals is I can get a little bit more sleep. Having my wife drop me at the TTC since our hotel isn’t running a shuttle which is odd.

The only thing I do not like about the modified course is not running down Hollywood Blvd. I will miss those photos.
