DW and I were channel surfing last night and happened to catch this show. Very interesting to watch. I can only imagine what kind of money the bride came from- Dad must have been chairman of AIG:lol:

Wife and I found this last night as well. Agreed it was interesting to watch. As we know, Disney pulls out all and any stops for the right amount of $. Imo, it didn't get me "jazzed" up like the Disney shows on Travel Channel, they didn't get much into attractions, resorts, etc, and understandably so because it's a wedding show. But worth the watch. One couple did an amazing rehearsal dinner in Italy at the world showcase and capped the evening off with Illuminations, tune it to check that out!

I watched most of it last night. I can't imagine spending $30k on a wedding...

From CNN Money - http://money.cnn.com/2009/02/13/smallbusiness/wedding_jitters/

"According to The Wedding Report, a Tucson, Ariz.-based research firm, the average amount couples are spending on a wedding is expected to drop in tandem with the economy, decreasing at least 10% in 2009. In 2008 the average price for a wedding rang in at $21,814. (That's down from $27,490 in 2007.)"

Everyone assumes this is the travel channel although he didnt put a channel, I just checked the travelchannel.com and Disney isn't on any day at 10pm or 12 midnight, discovery channel maybe? food network possibly?

Apparently "WE" is the "Women's Entertainment" network. Or, "Wives are Expensive" network, depending upon your point of view.

Yeah, the womens channel. My wife loves a lot of the shows on here. I'm sure a Disney wedding is awesome!! But I can't stomach spending the kind of money these people spend on there weddings Disney or not. Its fun to watch though. :D

I love the wedding shows on WE. They have Bridezillas, Platinum Weddings, Rich Bride, Poor Bride, Who's Wedding Is It?, etc. Weddings in general are expensive. I'd love to do a vow renewal at my happy place but not if I had to cut corners at every turn. That takes away from the fun for me. Hubby and I started out with next to nothing. My parents didn't approve of my getting married so not only did they refuse to contribute to any wedding, my dad opted to go to work instead of attend. We got married in my in-laws living room with close friends/family present. Food, clothing, license, everything totalled maybe $275. Even for those of us who didn't have the childhood dreams of the grand princess experience still have that little part of their heart that wishes it could have happened for them, too. :animwink:

Loved the Disney Wedding special on WE. It was very cool!
