There is a package discount (play/stay/dine) as well as a room-only discount. The dates vary depending which discount- and it has to be booked putting the deposit on your Disney Visa.

thank you ...I have reservations already for a few days April 1 - 4the and was just wondering if the room only discount fell during those dates?

It's supposed to (the room discount)- but it all comes down to availability. Package discounts haven't been released yet for those dates, so if you find that there's nothing for your dates/resort now, you can always try again on when the next discounts are released.

We also often find recently that if there's nothing available on the first day, to keep checking back every day for a few weeks. Often Disney releases more inventory for their discounts as time goes on.

As far as discounts go, it gives you (typically) the same savings as the public discount. Sometimes you get a few days advance booking, or expanded dates/availability (which we saw for this fall).

Around property, you can get merchandise and food discounts and a few private meet and greets.

Then there's also the rewards points that are always nice. If you have a Sam's club or Costco membership, they sell discounted Disney gift cards, and now allow visa for payment. I believe you still earn points on your DV when purchasing gift cards- so it's nice to combine the savings and pay for your trip!

When using a Disney visa discount like today, you only need to pay the deposit with your card- and then the rest can be paid however you'd like.
