Okay, so I guess I might be an idiot, but is this event going to be offered EVERY SINGLE NIGHT between June 6 and August 8, or just on certain select nights during that time period?

Thanks!

"we heard you like Halloween parties so we added a 'party' in the summer with less value"

The Halloween Party is a trash value too.

Seriously, who pays for this crap? I don't fault Disney for doing it, and I think the whole "they're cutting normal hours for these events" thing is largely a myth, but I'm still baffled at the guests who find value in this kind of thing.

They are treading very closely to making it more reasonable to purchase only hard ticket events in lieu of regular admission. If you go with the metric of "number of attractions experienced per dollar spent" it may already be there depending on the crowd at any particular event.
I've only done the Halloween Party once, but it was far MORE crowded than my normal schedule of rope-drop-with-break-after-lunch-and-back-in-the-evening-then-bed-before-fireworks.

Thank you for that! Where did you find that info?

This says Jun 6 - Aug 8...

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...er-hours-nights-events-at-magic-kingdom-park/

And at the DAH page, it list the dates:

361059

The Thursday of July 4 is moved to Monday, July 1.

So this is every Thursday night in June and July, and the first 2 weeks in August, June 6th it says the MK closes at 10pm. How many hours beyond that will this go? Not a terrible idea but this seems more like a way to get people who aren't waiting for Star Wars land to show up this summer

10 PM to 1 AM. So negative nine hours if I did my math right.

Genuine interest.

So did it took a much longer period of time to experience a similar amount of attractions? Or was it so crowded at the Halloween Party that you were unable to experience much beyond the characters, parties, and candy?

Maybe the metric of "attractions experienced per hour" would be a better indicator of the value of hard ticket events vs general admission.

Does anyone know how Halloween/Christmas Parties compare to the After Hours events in regards to the total number of tickets available?

I would say it took an equal amount of time to experience an equal number of attractions. The lines were, on average, somewhat shorter, but the attractions that were actually open were spread far apart so there was much more walking in between things. The general feeling of "crowded-ness" was far worse. Experiencing the party-specific offerings was a complete nightmare of crowds. You couldn't get anywhere close to the parade route without being trampled.

If someone asked me for my MNSSHP recommendation, I'd tell them to watch the parade on YouTube and stay far far away.

My wife made this exact comment. Why not just get a ticket for the event, skip the daytime hassle, and enjoy the most popular rides? Sure you miss some rides, but you get to ride the most popular ones.

For me, because the rides are only half the equation. I want to see the Main Street Philharmonic, Dapper Dans, Royal Majesty Makers, Festival of Fantasy as well.

I know it's probably hard info to get, but does anyone know how many tickets Disney sells for these events?
$150 for 3 hours with 1000? 5000? 10000? of my closest friends?
And what are the wait times like? Walk on?
My daughter's birthday will fall on one of the dates and she would flip out over the villains theming.
But $450 for three of us is crazy.
I need some one to convince me.
Trust me, I don't need anyone to tell me it's a wa$te of ca$h.

I really think it just makes people feel "exclusive".... I have drank the Kool Aid before and slowly but surely my brain is pushing back saying this just doesn't make sense. Best times were always at EMH when they ran until 2 am, gone are those days.

They'll extend when we get closer. They always do.

People like to say (in March/April): Park hours this summer are shorter than they used to be! But then nobody likes to update their comments when summer actually arrives and Disney is adding hours left and right.

When Avatar and Toy Story Land opened, Disney was doing 8am openings and 7am EMH every single day for months at a time. Those are added hours that they didn't do "in the good old days." You can't just take a small sliver of total park hours (MK evening EMH in the summer) and make blanket statements about park hours more generally.

On my last trip, MK opened at 8am almost every day, and it was just a normal week, not a holiday.

Scheduled park hours are like rack rates. Disney posts the lowest possible hours and highest possible rack rates and then adjusts as they get more information about projected crowd levels.

I’ve done a few in the past year. The longest line I waited in was 10 minutes for Mine Train. We managed to do almost every open ride in Magic Kingdom in about 90 minutes during one of them (skipped Goofy and Dumbo and the other spinners and Small World).
For one of the parties, on Space Mountain they let us up the reride ramp, and it was literally walk on. As in walk up the ramp and sit down in the car immediately. Other times it was a 10-15 person wait. For Thunder we were able to stay on the train for multiple rides, they just made us stand up and sit again. Splash was just keep riding as long as we wanted as well.

It’s worth it if you want to do a lot of rides. The attendance is small enough to be a real benefit.

Doing AH in the Summer is a better bargain than the Winter. That's because you can enter at 7 AM. And in the Summer, there are later hours. So, if the MK is closing at 10 PM, then the AH ticket is buying you 6 hours in the park. Three of those hours, you can ride the most popular rides over and over again. The first three, you can knock out the lesser popular rides and the fireworks.
