Disney Vacation Club Star View Station - New lounge coming to Disneyland Resort in 2023

Think they should have put this in the Starcade instead. Brighter, more open and easily accessible, and leaves the Launch Bay building available for better things.

Granted this seems a super light change to the area with a screen and some multi-colored lights and couches (I've been up there a few times for events and it's dark and kinda claustrophobic and this doesn't seem to alleviate it any).

I mean, I'm never going to go there and I don't see it being a high-traffic area, but I still think Starcade would've been a better option - if equally as temporary a space. But I guess they're still occasionally using that for other event space for Keys and event pickups, etc.

Over/under $300 a point?

Under. It will be priced the same as whatever the going rate of RIV/Aulani is by then, ?215. We already played the game with VGF2 and everyone was wrong that there was no 'premium'.

DL tower will have quite a lot of points and people forget they really struggled to sell VGC. Even if there will be a massive upfront surge of existing members, it will dwindle.

There's been a lot of note made how paltry the DVC benefits are in Disneyland, the new tower essentially quadruples the current footprint so I am by no means surprised and am happy they are doing things.

But I was thinking more along the lines of dining discounts as opposed to a lounge that is going to be very, very exclusive. Let's face it almost no one is a DVC owner in California comparatively.

Also in terms of what everyone is asking, DVC would have asked and planned for this as a promo to sell, so yes it is very divorced from other developments in the Parks.

The concept art makes it look gross and depressing.
It looks like you would have allergies in there, and it would reek of cigarette smoke. Maybe it will be the only place at the Disneyland Resort with casino slot machines!

Thank you, that's it exactly! It looks like a newly remodeled Slots-O-Fun casino a few blocks off the Strip.

They should really play it up. Make the CM's staffing it have very high tenure, and dress them up like this...

You want another Whiskey Sour and a plastic cup for your winnings, honey?

I’m not convinced on this…different market segment. Still the prices passed “reasonable” long ago.

If there are people sitting on the lagoon at caribbean for $215 a point…I hope the beanstalk starts to grow soon 😎

I thought this was going to be planned inside the planned DVC tower itself. LOL

Waste of space to use for DVC members use only inside the park…

To be fair to TDA and the DVC team, that building has been a waste of space since America Sings closed in 1988. It's going on 35 years now that the space has been wasted, under-utilized, or simply vacant.

So why not turn the upstairs part into a cheap and tacky DVC lounge? Who cares at this point?

They've obviously got no real plans for that giant building anytime soon. :(

So this is for the DVC people who aren't hungry enough to go to a restaurant but want a place to sit and look at their phones?

Made for the people that need a break and don't have the strength to walk back to the DVC?

The CM's working this room will get to know each other very well until the staff is reduced to one.

Great points!

And you're right... what's the purpose exactly? And who is the demographic that would hike up that long ramp for this?

I think you're assumption this will be under-utilized and soon downgraded to nothing is correct.

It will be the new "Undesirables" lounge by year end. As soon as the projector bulb on the space window burns out.
