I think the entire land should just be emperial conquest....lord Vader crushing what inkling is left of the rebel alliance. Let's face it if stormtroopers had iron sights and if death stars didn't have holes in them....there would be no rebel alliance.

What about we start talking about Star Wars land? This is the reason why I think Star Wars land will be a home run if made
1. Disney knows they can't fail again espicaly sense universal now has kong and the new water park coming out soon
2. HWS needs a major anchor land and Star Wars would be it so they would have to put actual $$ into the land
3.they won't be able to cheap out and build a simulator for their main ride because they all ready have one for it
4. They have seen how much universal is making off hp food and merchadice so I see them making truly unique attractions so that they can make us say "just take my money!!" For food and merchandice.
5. they have a big enough plot to work with exotically sense Echo lake might be closed for it
6. The rumored budget of the whole HWS is HUGE so that money must be going somewhere

Exciting - your right. They need to go all in. And not just with Star Wars land. I would like to see CarsLand / Pixar Playground. Move the Indiana Jones stunt show to another area? Attendance would be huge if done right.

Ever try to maintain a proper cheek weld with a huge plastic helmet on?

It's hard but that's what the holographic sight is for... Those times when a proper cheek weld is not practical it's also why the rifle is equipped with a pistol grip. Guess the Empire's instructors really suck not a R. Lee Ermey among them...

Ok..I'll bite... StarWarsLand at the re-branded Disney's Hollywood Adventure Park in Orlando.....

1.1 billion in 2012 dollars will get you a well themed, elegantly executed area containing 3 attractions, 3 restaurants, and 3 shopping areas. This will go along with some redevelopment of existing areas to correct theme and flow issues. It will also re-dress some other items/attractions to fit adjacent areas.

The attractions will be 1 E/D ticket (depending on who you ask), and 2 B/C tickets (also depending on who you ask). You will get a quick serve restaurant, a food court restaurant area, and a snack bar type thing. You will have a store with IP specific items, and 2 generic shops with few IP items. There may be a chance that 1 of the B/C attractions may need to be re-imagined within 2 to 3 years.

(If you wonder where I am getting this from, it's from the DCA/CarsLand remodel and expansion project.)

I will not extensively comment on the other areas of this newly re-branded park. Succinctly, I fear (and have mentioned before) it will amount to a lightly themed, off-the-self carnival ride area and the already in progress 3rd rail for TSMM. Again, I hope I am wrong.

They will be be announcing the land this year because they are gonna need to be able to tell the general public why there is construction everywhere

Is it possible that Disney will string us along and wait until Avatar Land opens before even starting construction on Star Wars? I mean having so much Construction on going at the parks is probably not a desired situation. My personal opinion, they should just flat out CLOSE DHS all together and fast track the entire park redo. I think with a dedicated construction crew and the entire park shuttered they could knock it all out in 1 year.

EDIT: Who am I kidding, even with the park shuttered no way they could do all this in a year. This is Disney we are talking about right?

Your wrong they have all ready started construction on the new HWS (including taking down the hat, putting the new toy story track in) and rumors are that star wars construction will start by the end of the year with walls going up this summer, remember disney is going to try and get star wars open around the time the first few movies come out (episode 9 probally) and they will be announcing something this year

How can I be wrong when all I did was pose a question? Until we actually see walls go up and construction on Star Wars land starting I will remain skeptical about the timeline. I was merely asking whether anyone else thinks its possible Disney will delay the start of construction as long as possible until Avatar land is open. I also mentioned the bit about closing the park down for construction to ask if people think that would even make a difference in the speed by which this expansion can be done. Honestly, I hope this park redo is done by 2019 but I am thinking it may be well into 2020's before we see this thing thorough... and who knows what will happen if Avatar land flops or is SDL flops....it could all have impact on DHS and WDW in general.

I am constantly amazed by people's ability to jump to the conclusion they want to believe in based on almost no factual support.

Some people must really like being disappointed.

Yeah, I know right we aren't aloud to wish or be optimistic on any of these public speculation forums right?;)

It's one thing to say "I hope..." Dream big. Whatever.

It's another to argue that construction is underway and SWLand is imminent.

People have been getting carried away over the concept of a Star Wars themed land for years! Some of them are like Charlie Brown and the football. No matter how many times Disney/Lucy snatches that football away, they just keep kicking at it. Absolutely convinced that this time will yield a different result.

As for the whole "public forums" argument, well, that kind of cuts both ways does it not? If people are allowed to post wild speculation, others are allowed to respond with skepticism.

No need to start a argument but why are you even on this thread? It doesn't seem like you think/want star wars land to happen so why even bother coming on here so you can tell everyone else that they are getting carried away with what we want to see....

Oh, the old "why are you even here?" chestnut. I look forward to hearing about how Disney is a business.

The very first thing I posted was that I am a Star Wars fan, a Disney fan and that I look forward to seeing what eventually happens with SWLand. Can I continue posting please?

So he pointed out that your pie in the sky type thinking has occurred many times over the years and it usually ends in dissapointment and you ask him why he comes to this thread? Thats funny. You obviously didnt read any of his or others posts from yesterday saying that we're hoping Disney does Star Wars Land right, otherwise you wouldnt have said what I bolded. But ya, he should be the one to leave, not the guy practicing random armchair planning of SW land (for the billionth time). When does your podcast thats dedicated to discussing movies and occasionally theme parks come on because Id love to listen to it? Oh wait, thats @lebeau,
