Just downloaded it. I'm pretty impressed.

Although, if I remember correctly, the fastpass return window used to be one hour. It's telling me right now that fastpass return times for BTMRR are 10:30-11:00. It's 10:13 there now.

If the park is closing at 11, they will usually have FP's with a 30 min window to close out the day.

has anyone done a check to see how accurate these wait times are? I just downloaded the new app on my ipad and it says that big thunder has a 40 min wait right now (9:40 pm on a Thursday night with EMH mornings). That doesn't seem right, I would think it would be longer.

I'm calling shenanigans! It says that TSMM only has a 45 min wait! Its 9:42 and the park closes at 10, but still, that seems crazy short for the middle of summer.

I was at MK last night, and that is about the same wait time at BTMRR as last night..

crowds are heavy, but not SUPER heavy right now.

To all my Canadian peers. As we all know Disney is going into its next gen stage starting today. With this new app, all of us with smart phones want to be using this technology. But one thing that is a killer for us Canadians in the roaming charges. We cant keep our phone on all day and receive stupid texts and phone calls. Here is the solution.... Anybody with an iPhone that wants to be able to use WiFi but doesn't want to deal with text messages and phone calls, just switch the phone into plane mode and turn on your WiFi. Simple as that. All you Americans may use this option also cheers:)

Interesting, "Mobile Magic" was never available in the German Itunes app store and I kind of expected it to take some time for this new app to appear here in the German Itunes if it was going to be available at all. But no, just downloaded it this morning. They are really serious about this.

I'm signed in... nothing.

Make sure you're in the home screen, you will see the Disney map. Then swipe your finger to left (as if you're in your camera roll and you want to view your next photo). When you do that the screen will slide to the times guide and it will show all the rides and wait times, try that

Not a huge fan of having to register to actually use a large portion of the app. I realize that is mostly likely simply a precursor for the next gen fast pass reservations, but still.

Heck, with this app, they don't need no stinkin' RFID tracking. The app asks for your GPS position, and can easily just report that back to their central server.

I think RFID will likely (somehow) be integrated to also tell you information about your FP return times, maybe even ADR reminders, etc. Who knows what the future of the App is - but my guess is it becomes the onestop shop for everything Disney related and is more than just data on show times, standby lines, FP return times, etc.

Maybe, it won't be as much of a ride reservation system as it will be you will be able to get your FP's via the app and not have to actually go to the attraction. OR, maybe you'll be able to stop at ANY FP device and get a FP for ANY eligible attraction. I actually think that would be ok (versus I made my ride reservations 2 months out via disney.com).

Super nitpick mode:
-guide map still appears to be using low-res assets.
-changing the filter on the map from "attractions" to something else (like dining) zooms the map back out, pretty annoying.
-I am not seeing restaurant menus anywhere, am I missing something?
-park hours includes EMH hours but doesn't specify event hours (fantasmic, electrical parade, etc).

Still pretty cool though. I love that the map is of the whole resort with roads and hotels and everything and that details increase as you zoom in. Also really like the FP distribution return times too.

I thought the iPad rendering was pretty nice. Now, I'll likley never travel through the park with my iPad, but for those who do or those who get an iPad mini, it did look decent. Even better, with WiFi, it will work in the iPod touch so you don't have to have an iPhone or drain your phone battery, or give an iPhone to your 14 year old kid, etc.

If this lets me check availability and wait times for restaurants in the future, make ADR's, etc. I'll really be pleased.

Try viewing the attractions as a list instead of a map view.
I had to sign off and sign on multiple times during park hours but I think I've got it working now.

I have noticed that it doesn't keep you logged in for very long.

This is an improvement over Mobile Magic, but the real test will be in park. I'm curious as to whether or not they'll add menus.

I like it too. I did notice a few issues as others have mentioned. Hopefully since this is only a beta things will be fixed. One thing I noticed that was quite deceptive was the pic for Crystal Palace - a girl meeting Cinderella!! The description said something about the Hundred Acre Wood, but the pic was Cinderella! For someone who doesn't know this might cause some issues. I too am hoping that I will be able in link in my dining and resort reservations. I am assuming that functionality will be available since they are making me sign in. Also, I would love for them to add menus.

Yeah I can't seem to find menus, though I just checked for sanity and they are still in the old mobile magic app. Oddly enough the Be Our Guest restaurant is in there too.
