Here is what I wrote at http://imagineers.proboards44.com/index.cgi in the Isle of Disney Resort thread there:
I agree--and furthermore, I have some wonderful ideas for a waterpark. Here is just one:
1) A "Water Theme Park" Themed To Jonathan Swift's Novel GULLIVER'S TRAVELS Called THE VOYAGES OF LEMUEL GULLIVER. It will have several "lands", such as NOTTINGHAMSHIRE WAY, LILLIPUT, BROBDINGNAG, LAPUTA, BALNIBARBI, LUGGNAGG, GLUBBDUBDRIB, And JAPAN. Each Themed Area Will Have Both Traditional And Cutting-Edge Waterpark Attractions Themed Exquisitely To Its Particular Location. There Will Be A Large Lagoon In The Center Of The Park For Boating And Watersports And A Beach For Sunbathing. There Will Be Plenty Of Restaurants, Both Full-Service And Counter-Service, And An Abundance Of Shopping Oppurtunities For The Swim-Weary. Theaters Will Stage World-Class Entertainment Throughout The Day, And A First-Rate Spa & Fitness Center Will Entertain Health Fanatics. Recreational Activities Such As Miniature Golf, Beach Volleyball, Croquet, Shuffleboard, And Water Polo Will Be Found Spread Throughout The Park. An Elaborate Wax Museum/Dark Ride Will Further Entertain Guests. A Skycoaster, Trampoline, Go-Karts, Miniature Train Ride, And Hot-Air Balloon Ride, All Excellently Themed Of Course, Will Be Available For A Small Fee. At Dusk, Before Closing Time, A Show Will Be Presented On The Lagoon.

^ Yeah, exactly. Most of the public would be too stupid to understand the story. (But not us Disney fans, who know lots of attraction stories.)

It doesn't have to be intellectual--instead of concentrating on the satirical elements, we should concentrate on the settings of each voyage he takes and the people he meets. If you still think that's "too overdone and intellectual", we can theme the waterpark entirely to just one place he visits, like Liliput, Brobdingnag (The Land Of Giants), or Laputa (The Island Floating In The Sky). I wouldn't do Brobdingnag, since that's already been done far too much in theme parks throughout the world. Also, since Miyazaki did an animated film loosely based on Laputa called The Castle In The Sky, I wouldn't really do that--though Disney has the rights to it. Lastly, Liliput is perfect because one of Mickey Mouse's animated features is based on Gulliver's voyage to Liliput. We could theme the whole park to that one (famous) animated feature--and it would appeal to everyone.

Nope... I don't think so.. SIR90210 and I agree that the theme is too... sketchy and should never leave the drawing board.

Then how about a waterpark themed to Pleasure Island in Pinocchio? Or the Jazz and Classical Music Islands in the famous Disney animated short "Music Land"? This plot summary from http://disneyshorts.toonzone.net/years/1935/musicland.html may interest you:
When the saxophone son of the King of the Isle of Jazz falls in love with the violin daughter of his father's rival, the Queen of the Land of Symphony, war erupts. The Prince and Princess are nearly drowned in the Sea of Discord until a cease fire is called. The short ends in a double wedding and the uniting of the two kingdoms with the Bridge of Harmony.
