This weekend at Disneyland, they open their brand new fireworks show "Magical". I saw a video of it on youtube and it has to be ever better in person! How come Disneyworld isn't able to provide such top of the line entertainment. Our fireworks shows are nearly a decade+ old and Fantasmic hasn't received any major refurbs lately. Disneyland has received a brand new dragon for Fantasmic which I believe will be also.

Because DL has a "more local Fanbase".:lol:

Seriously, if TDO were to cough up the money to do something like this, I know that APers would eat this up.

I actually watched Magical and was surprised at teh movies they were using in it. Also, having not been to DL since I was about 8 years old, I was wondering about hte contraption they use to fling Tink/Dumbo around... is it a crane?

Wire system. you can see the mechanism if you look closely about 10-15 feet above the character.

Magical was decent I guess. Dumbo really didn't impress me; his ears sorta flapped and all but it still looked like they just took a Dumbo from the ride and put him on wires. A nice effort and all, but still needs some work. The rest of the show is pretty good, but Remember is better.

Still, while Disneyland gets a new lineup of summer events, we get reduced operating times! Whoo hoo! :dazzle: :brick:

Agreed...But you gotta remember that they needed and easier show to run for the summer. I think the less pyro mandates less closures.

And I can't believe you didn't like Dumbo! That was quite a moment.

Honestly, I can see no flaws with the show, even if we haven't seen the whole thing yet. They are reportedly adding more pyro.

I think I am DoM for Magical.:lookaroun:lol:

Yeah, I see your point about the pyro, but thats not why I think Remember is better. I personally like the collective effort of all the effects in Remember (such as the lasers, lghts, projections, castle pyro, etc) and the way they are timed to the music (which is better in Remember IMHO). I liked the new music selections in Magical, but they just didn't work as well as Remember.

And I'm sorry, Dumbo just doesn't move enough for me to suspend reality to think he's flying above the castle. Just doesn't work for me.
