Disney stroller policy

Hey guys wondering if Disney has any rules/regulations on strollers that we bring into the parks?

Specifically my wife is wondering if we can put a bicycle flag on it so its easier to find.

I am wondering if they would have a problem if I locked the wheels together to prevent theft.

It's best to call reservations, they usually have most of the answers to policies at the parks and if not they find out for you.

Not sure what you mean by locking the wheels together, but CM's can and will move your stroller if it's in the way or they want to re-organize the stroller area (happens a lot in Fantasyland).

I have an anti-theftdevice which is basically a wire cable with a lock on it...and a monkey. You wrap it through the wheels so when they turn the cable hits the stroller ans stops them from turning. Unless someone has wire cutters or wantes to simply drag a stroller through the parks they can't steal it.

Tip :

Take a pic of where you park the stroller each time. After several days of parking the stroller, it can get pretty confusing.

If a CM moves the stroller then you could be in for a little bit of searching, but they usually are not moved to far from the original spot.

Bike flag would be a great idea, even if it was something that was collapsible and was only extended while the stroller is parked.

Just put a balloon on it. A bike flag would probably be right at someones eye level and knowing my luck that one individual would not be paying attention and walk right into it and poke themselves in the eye with it....or break their nose. ROFLOL :ROFLOL:

How old is the monkey?

If it is older than 5 I hope it is walking and not riding in the stroller...:lookaroun

Is this the rolls royce of strollers? I don't think you need anything locks or anything on your stroller. We were there on crowdeded days and the stroller was fine, and it was pretty easy to locate every time. If your renting, I could see trying to put something in there to make it stand out. But otherwise put a ribbon on it and you should be fine.

Tips for Strollers:

-NEVER EVER lock you stroller to any stationary object like a pole, chain, etc. CM's are trained to call that in immediately to security and security WILL cut the lock.

-Balloons and brightly colored bandanas tied to strollers have been the best things guests use to find their stroller. Sometimes they even throw a bright colored blanket over it to find it easier and also protect it from getting too hot in the sun.

-ALWAYS look or ask where designated stroller parking areas are. If you park your stroller in the wrong spot, it will most likely be moved and you will not enjoy the panic that comes with that.

-Once your stroller is parked in any designated area, understand that it will be moved around. While these stroller parking areas are essentially parking lots, people do not treat them as them. In a car parking lot, you will go up an down the aisles to find a spot, you wouldn't double park or block someone in, and you wouldn't block the entrance/exit to a row, but people do the opposite of all these things when it comes to stroller parking and that is why CM's have to keep moving your stroller around.

-Make sure your stroller is standard width to fit through things like turnstile gates.

-Don't bring a $2000 stroller if you are worried about it getting stolen, broken, or messed with.

-Running/Jogging strollers and larger strollers are typically very hard to maneuver through crowds. Small tiny basic umbrella strollers are more likely to be easily mistaken by other guests as theirs and are more likely to be accidentally taken.

-Don't leave food out on your stroller. The birds will eat it. Even if it is packaged, sometimes they will figure out how to open a zip lock of goldfish crackers.

-Don't leave valuables on your stroller. You are after all leaving strollers unattended. CM's are not responsible for watching your stroller, just organizing them.

-Wagons are not strollers. They are not permitted in Disney theme parks.

That's all I can think of. ;)

they should have a policy that 9 year olds can't ride in strollers. :brick:

But I'd go with a bright balloon or something special tied to the top so that it can't be mistaken for others.

I don't really know about anyone else...but I doubt people go lurking in WDW for a free stroller. But hey...the amount of idiots that I see in the parks astounds me as it is so I wouldn't really be surprised to find some dude trying to score a sweet stroller.

I'd get annoyed with a flag sticking up on my stroller. I'd probably do an old beach towel thrown over it (could serve double-duty). Don't use a nice, new one, tho. Someone might steal it. Sad that has to be a thought, I know. Also, get some ribbons (Walmart has cool Disney ones) and tie them to your handle off to 1 side. That would be another good identifier. I don't think I'd go thru the trouble of locking a mechanism on the wheels. Even if I intended to do that I know I'd do it exactly twice then decide it's too much of a PITA.

I find the best way to keep people away from our stroller is to put one of these stickers on the back of it.

Can tell you that if you have a large double stroller ( AKA jogging stroller ) that has wheels that are basically bicycle wheels,Leave it at home!!! We have a new D.O.T. safety and A.D.A requirement for our buses that is no longer going to allow us to transport them. They must fit completely into a 36" x 60" box when folded. You will find these "boxes" now in the load zones at the resorts. It is the white box with the wheelchair symbol painted on the ground. .The strollers either need to be put under the seats,or held upright and not block or protrude into the aisle. Also if you are renting an ECV from an outside vendor during your stay, it must be a standard size A.D.A compliant scooter that fits inside the same 36" x 60" box which is required by D.O.T. Guests have been renting what we are calling "Trikes" which are oversized non A.D.A or D.O.T compliant 3 wheeled scooters, and they do not fit thru the doors in some of our busses,so we are no longer allowed to transport them.

I did overhear a cast member telling this to a guest at the Epcot parking lot the other day. The guests was very frustrated and refused to listen to the CM advising them to leave it in their car because I guess just a few days earlier it was no problem.

I understand these things happen, but Disney should be much more vocal with the change or many families who are used to coming to the parks with these strollers and ECVs will be very angry to stumble upon the change at the last minute.

Do not count on a balloon to help you find your stroller at the Animal Kingdom, as Balloons are not allowed in that theme park
