Disney Springs to get new signs

Sure. I agree with another poster that your version looks like something warning about a chemical spill. Besides, yellow is the supposed to be the universal symbol to slow down. While not a bad thing to do anywhere, I don't a bright yellow should be on every sign.

I get your point and I can agree that the yellow might be a bad choice. I just would like to see something that doesn't remind me of the early 1990's. :D I get that you and probably a lot of others like the signs but I never really cared for them.

Disney has Purple signs based off of a test done in the early 90's across Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

The test was different color pieces of paper were spread across areas of the parks. As guests left the park, Disney employees at the exits conducted a survey asking if they had remembered seeing colored pieces of paper during there visit...

Purple was the overwhelming color remembered by guests. This concluded that this color was the one guests eyes would turn to and remember.

This is why we have and will always have purple signs.

Footnote: I learned this while training at the Magic Kingdom during my college program in 2006.

Interesting. Also lends insight into people demanding purple MBs. There's just something about purple.

The signs in the OP have nothing to do with disney springs
I wasn't the one who took the pictures or came to the conclusion and @G00fyDad was saying something similar to you, but what else could these specifically made and paid for Disney Springs signs mean except that they're replacing some road signs somewhere to show people how to get to Disney Springs?

Road signs across property already show guests how to get to Disney springs and they have for a long time now. This is simply various signs being replaced which happens all the time or new signs related to some of the road work around property.

Yeah, but I don't think I alluded to otherwise.

But are you ok with the 1950/60 era green expressway signs? They should remain one of that era.

The purple is consistent on the property and should stay so. A change would be jarring to drivers.

I think these signs are likely for the rebuilt roadways on and around Buena Vista Drive at EPCOT Center Drive.

True. They should update ALL of these signs across the property. Get ride of the old purple ones. Something like this would be nice...

While I agree that the purple color scheme is incredibly dated and screams early '90s, that yellow is generally going to indicate CAUTION to most motorists. I absolutely think they should keep the same general design, layout, typeface, etc., just switch out that purple for something else. Maybe to coordinate with the new bus paint schemes.

What ever happened to the peeping Mickey Mouse one?

The signs with Mickey on them were the first ones you saw as you entered Walt Disney World, to indicate you were now on their property. The Mickeys were removed once they built the arches.

Yeah, I wish they would declutter the arches, and update the color scheme, particularly ditch the purple and green. Or even come up with a whole new arch. And add something to the Disney Springs exit.

Refreshing the directional signage does not mean it has to adopt another, established look and therefore no longer be distinctive.

I have come to the realization that I can only see the sign that says "Disney Springs" if I am on mobile. It doesn't show on my desktop o_O

Yeah. Someone pointed that out to me too. LOL I didn't think about that when I did the mock-up. I just went for Mickey colors.

I also like the purple. It signifies that you in the Disney bubble, baby!

nah dump the bright puff and move to a more natrual color scheme some brown maybe and exspand that across property. the visualisation of WDW has morphed. before we wanted bright artificial colors (think old fantasyland look) but now we want realistic looks for things.

What's this "we" business?!? I don't go to WDW for "realistic"! I go to WDW to ride Splash Mountain and hug Donald Duck!

I remember the 2004/2006 arches the most.
